Selling some advertising?

Hello everyone,

I'm thinking of selling some advertising. For instance, let's say a customer pays me for 1 million banner impressions or something. Not necessarily just in my site, but also elsewhere in the net.

One thing I'm wondering is how to provide the banner stats to that customer?

Please advise. I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

If you're trying to go down this path and you want to show exactly how many impressions you served to a customer, it'll be best to setup an adserver of your own.

Now this is quite complicated, so I would suggest you go with an established adexchange such as BuySellAds. It'll save you a lot of hassle, and it'll be easier to find better advertisers.

If you set them up on a service like mentioned above or others, they will provide stats then you can take those stats and give to client or share screen shots if don't want them to access site obviously if you're running.

Search the web ( Google) for tool or service that allows you to keep track of how many times your advertisements and links are being viewed and clicked.

Selling advertising from sources across the net won't work as well as selling from your own controlled source like a blog or something....Anyone can sell advertising online, what separates you from all the other freelance advertising specialists that already sell impressions for dirt cheap? Just think about how competitive it could be is all i'm saying...

Selling banner advertising is one of the most challenging monetization methods you could come out with You need massive traffic to be able to make some money with it and it's not easy to find advertisers that can really fill your banner inventory. That's why there are so many networks that do exactly that.

Becoming yourself the middle man and buy the banners for a customer is another recipe for disaster. You'll be the one responsible for the ROI they get, and you don't even control the traffic or the quality of it.
