That's it -I'm fixing to hold a Séance...

I have been walking around the last few days with my next new project hiding just under my conscious.

Have you ever had one of those times when you are looking at the screen and you feel an idea if front of you yet you can't figure out just what the hell it is?

I can be at the grocery store and I feel it walking behind me pushing a cart with a squeaky wheel...

I can sense it on the way home but when I look in the rear view mirror there is nothing there.

Sometimes at home the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and I get a chill which no doubt is my new idea taunting me.

So I think its time I go all out and hold a Séance and see if I can reach this informational spirit. Then again Séances are usually held to communicate with the dead so would this mean my new idea is dead?

Oh hell now what am I going to do - I thought for sure the Séance would've fixed it good.

Maybe I'll just try talking to myself...

Do any of you Warriors find yourselves in a similar place from time to time?

    I find myself in that very same position ALL the time. Not even just with product launches. ALL my ideas taunt me this way. I'll be around the corner home alone and see it's shadow on the wall laughing.

    Maybe if you're thinking of a new 'fan-tas-tic product' you could try approaching the late great Billy Mays. lol(Sorry if it's a bit early for a joke, I just had to. He was a truly great guy though.)

    Start writing, you have so much in your head it can't surface.. frantically write everything you are thinking down to allow it to come out.

      Yep my head is bloated with information and projects. I think this elusive idea is trying to cut in front of the line.

    Look, if the seance doesn't work (how did you get the accent aigu in there???) ... maybe you could get your hands on (!) an old ouija board.

    The writing suggestion is a good one. Another way to go is asking yourself the question just before you go to sleep. Keep a pen and paper by the bed. You can find someone to brainstorm with - either by phone or in person: make sure they know that brianstorming needs to be as fluid and stupid and free-wheeling as possible.

    An even better idea is to stop thinking about it. Just stop trying to solve the problem and go do something completely different, something apart from your regular routine. Something, dare I say it ... fun. It could be a swim, a walk, a trip to the movies ... somewhere that you brain can chug away on it's own and that elusive idea can bubble it's way to the surface.

      Yeah I have been known to babble on in my sleep which has to be real entertaining to watch.

      I snore...
      I have sleep apnea so I stop breathing several times @ night...
      I sometimes talk in my sleep...

      I just wonder exactly what or who it is I am talking about.
