Overview of My First Money-Making Month In IM: 2830 Dollars

Before sharing with you my methods and results, I want to thank each one of you for setting me on the right track in Internet Marketing. I started trying to make money online in this May (if I recall correctly), and it was because of this forum.

In May I couldn't make any money. Ditto in June. But I was determined! By the end of July, even though I hadn't made a cent over the Internet, I was already very experienced and I felt that the next project I would create would bring me some cash. In July 23rd I had a talk with the fellow successful internet marketer Casey Gentles who shared with me his golden experiences, and set me on the RIGHT track in Internet marketing.

The next day I made $120. I am not joking.

Well, I couldn't replicate that success for every day, but from July 24rd to August 21st, I made $2,451. If you project it to a whole month by adding four days, I will have made $2830 in my first money-making month over the Internet. That's nearly $100/day.

Not bad, for my standards it's something like earning as much as Bill Gates!

So here comes how I did it. I made that money all from Clickbank. I promoted 5-6 different products, 4 of which returned at least one sale. So it's not only one product.

My method of promotion has largely been article marketing. While this will sound "holy crap" to some of you, I wrote 10 articles per day, and I now have 300 articles published on EZA and other various article sites such as GoArticles, articlesbase and Dashboard.

After a while the niches I'm in sound so familiar that it takes no more than 10 minutes to write a 300-word article. But of course you can write so many articles per day (regardless of how easily you do so) before your head explodes, so I'm now into outsourcing articles in the niches I'm in; and writing new articles for new niches I wish to explore.

My CTR's are high on both article directories and in my sites. (around %40 in EZA, and over %70 in my sites) The conversions are very high, while of course this differs from niche to niche; I am surprised when I see 50 hops and no sales.

Before you ask, my niches are: the relationship niche and the female health niche. I promoted some products which made sales in the sexuality niche, but their conversions were kind of terrible, so I decided against wasting my time with them.

I am EXTREMELY and ABSOLUTELY thankful to this forum for making me so much money (in my standards!). So I will be more than willing to help you with any questions, especially from newbies.

  • Well done, Talinn. Congratulations, and thank *you* for sharing this valuable information! I am particularly interested in the fact that you made it on CB, where I have never succeeded in making more than a few pennies... LOL... It shows that hard work pays off when it's focussed on the right things. 10 articles a day... Yo!
  • Talinn,

I'm a huge fan of Casey Gentles, and it doesn't surprise me the help he's given you and it's flipping amazing to say the least how well you've done. Very well done.

Every time I am thinking about what is the best formula for making money, it seems that Article marketing comes along to remind me of what might be.

Are your articles going to squeeze pages or direct to the Clickbank sales pages? I'm sure that Casey has mentioned squeeze pages in his 30 Day Challenge, so that may be what you are doing.

How are you able to write 10 articles a day? That seems a phenomenal amount to me, but if you are doing it then it obviously isn't a problem.

Wishing you continued success in all you do Talinn

    • Thanks Brian,

10 articles a day really don't take that much time. I'd say, cumulatively, writing 10 articles takes 2 hours... So a $35K/year income with working 2 hrs per day is actually very "lucrative"!

However, those 2 hours take their toll. At first when I saw that writing articles took a lot less time than I would have predicted, I said to myself "well then I can write 50 articles per day and earn five times the profit!" But no, after 10 or so articles you really just don't have it in you to write more.

    • I would be interested in hearing if your articles are direct linking or not as well. If you are creating a squeeze page/landing page, I would be interested in hearing the strategy. Thanks for the post!

  • Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your great accomplishment Talinn..!
  • I have landing pages for my articles, but no squeeze pages.
  • Do you sell the affiliate product from the landing page?
Or is it kinda a presell page and then they have to click through a link to the merchants sales page.
Those 2 niches are exactly 2 of the ones i was thinking about starting in.
I actually started one with a blog and squidoo page.
Great of you to share a few of your niches.
And great work and success in such a short time.

    • Talinn, that is just awesome! It really motivates me to see a fellow newbie succeed like that, I'm really happy for you. I actually feel like going out for a beer and celebrating, that's how excited you got me with your story lol

I just started getting into IM last month, and today I set up my first linkwheel so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I just read Casey's book and yeah, he really has a solid plan there, now after reading this post I want to go and read it again.

Thanks a lot for sharing, I seriously do appreciate you telling us about your success......you're a newbie, I'm sure you know how motivating it is to hear stories like this. Here's to your first successful month, I know you'll have a lot more!

      -Jon
  • Since I am an affiliate I can only make presell pages for the products.
  • The dating niche eh. I've written articles on sex on ezinearticles as well and as you said they converted poorly. Great to hear you have had much success with article marketing though!

    • This is informative indeed.Sure to try it out myself.
  • Hey Talinn thats great.

I wonder how long did it take for you to see sales coming in after you submitted them.

And are you still getting sales from the first articles you submitted??

I have started 20 days ago and so far I have made $27.

  • way to go...tht is so inspiring..well i am going in search of Casey Gentles.
  • Have you heard of clickbank bonus domination? It might be right up your alley. I own a copy and really like it. It is low cost($47) and you can have it deliver bonuses and auto subscribe buyers for you. Makes everything easier! Just google it to learn more, it might help to further increase conversions and build a back end for your affiliate marketing.

    Just a thought,
    -Elliot
  • Very inspiring.. thank you very much for sharing your experience.. and congrats
  • That's amazing to hear Talinn! It does indeed motivates us newbies to follow in one plan.

    Congrats!
  • 300 words? Eh, in my book that is not a "article"... It's a single paragraph. An article is at least 800 words. 300 is a small blog post... IMHO.
    • [6] replies
    • In my opinion, in article marketing, long articles (800 words for example) do not do as well as shorter ones. Around 300 - 400 words are perfect I think, as these articles serve the "presell" purpose, you want readers to be curious and click through to read more, not to satisfy their reading needs (or to bore them).

And congrats Talinn on your success! That is great motivation for any internet marketer!
    • Let me ask you a question..If you're looking for a quick information which one would read?

300 words article or 800 words?

Which one may look easier to comprehend?

Which one will be faster to read and finish?

In fact most of the successful article writers suggest articles of 400 words or below.

The quality of your article is more important than it's length..Trust me bro!!

In fact most of the articles by Casey Gentle (I'm a big fan of him) are of high quality but short and simple (300 words or below). Still he's making solid money from his articles

      My 2c..
    • Who cares what you call it? If it's making money then it's making money.
    • If I could write a 10 word article and make money I'd be happy.

@Cutthroat And thanks for the encouragement - Not! Some people are just starting out, so when they make money that's good - Isn't it?

It's just nice to be more encouraging. One day you might post a similar post and it wouldn't be nice for someone to diss you.

      Brian
      Ps IMHO

    • Who cares about length as long as they attract interested readers who click and buy!! Sheesh...
    • I usually only write mine just over 300 these days and my click through rate seems to be higher because of it. I have read several times that if you want someone to actually get to the bottom of your article and click your link that shorter is better IMHO Not to mention that you can then of course write a lot more articles and so have a lot more resource boxes out there somewhere.....

  • Wow, Talinn. Congratulations! Thank you for your information, great help.
  • Thanks everyone! Now to answer some questions:

kennybrewster: "I have one question about your article writing, did you use any software or program to make your articles different, or were they all completely seperate articles? As a copywriter myself, I know how difficult it can be to write ten articles about the same topic in one sitting."

My answer: No, I didn't use any program. I just rewrite and rewrite. It gets ultra boring, unfortunately, but so is backlink building

adriano9: "I wonder how long did it take for you to see sales coming in after you submitted them."

My answer: I made sales the first day I submitted the articles. I don't know whether I still make sales off of those articles, because I can't track it now that I have a lot of articles.

jendoe: "Any tips you want to share on how you got such high click-through rates on the articles? I've done a few articles, and didn't come anywhere near those numbers!

Also, were you rewriting articles, or doing completely new topics/stories for them? 10 articles in 2 hours means you were averaging just 12 minutes per articles, that's phenomenal to me. Did you start out slower than that and speed up as you gained more info on the niche, or are you just a super-fast writer?"

My answer: CTR's vary GREATLY with niche. But generally speaking, the best method to increase CTR is to not give out too much information. If you are talking about some method to achieve something in your article, talk about how great the method is, the fundamentals lying behind the method; but don't talk much about the method itself. If you do, the reader might just say "this method sucks" and might not be interested. Or, he might think "wow, this method rules, I will now give it a try" and try it out himself instead of buying the product you are promoting. At least this is what I have experienced. It might be the case that this method might be increasing your CTR but decreasing your conversion.

darksaberco: "Have you heard of clickbank bonus domination? It might be right up your alley"

My answer: No, I'd never heard of it before, but now I'm curious!

Cutthroat: "300 words? Eh, in my book that is not a "article"... It's a single paragraph. An article is at least 800 words."

My answer: You can call them little Flying Spaghetti Monsters instead of articles, I don't care that much as long as they keep making me money!

    • Talinn,
Great Job! You obviously did very well in selecting niches that convert, in addition to your work ethic of generating 10 articles a day consistently.

Question: Although direct affiliate links per se are not allowed at Ezinearticles, people are able to get around that by linking to a masked redirect, such as "www.yoursite.com/vendor1.php" which is actually just a redirect to the vendor's site with your hop link embeded, etc. Are you doing this, in addition to linking to the presell page, from each article? Just curious.

Not that you need any additional help, since you have discovered how to effectively use article marketing and can now just ramp things up - but One Week Marketing Plan is a good resource which is very consistant with what you're doing.

It takes the basic strategy of article marketing, and expands it into using Squidoo (or Hubpages, etc.), and blogs, and article directories, etc. with the goal being to both maximize exposure, while building backlinks at the same time. Just Google it if your interested.

On article marketing - as Ian at KarmicConsulting says, a great strategy is to write a 300 word article that is not actually complete - and finish it in the bio box (up to 250 words) but in a way that builds curiosity and provides strong calls to action.

You're probably already doing this, but many people may not be aware that they can put essentially half of an article within the bio box, and often this helps drive up CTR, if it is done right.

ROFL - Beautifully said Totally agree, for IM purposes, 500 would be the max and works fine for getting indexed. Shorter is better if it can build interest, curiousity, and clicks.

IM is not, and should not, be approached like academic prose writing. As thousands of great marketers often repeat, people online skim, and read Headlines.

I'm getting hammered in the Copywriting forum as we speak, on a salesletter I wrote that was way to verbose, but I digress..(see what I mean?)
    • Little flying spaghetti monsters...now there's a visual writer if ever I saw one =).
    • Touche-hahahahaha

Most of us could stand to put a few more of those "little Flying Spaghetti Monsters" out into cyberland!
  • Congrats. I appreciate your success. I am also a big fan of the Jamican Usbain Bolt ( Oh I mean Casey).
  • Wow that is simply incredible!
I have struggeled online for 8 months now, only had 2 sales.

I will want to try article marketing soon. But i'm not sure about the landing page/squeeze page, can someone advise me? Thanks
  • Hey Talinn,
Congrats on such a successful month. I have a few questions. What kind of backlinking did you do, or did you just submit to those article directories? Also did you link straight to the product page from your articles or did you go to a review page? Good job again. Im working on getting my $100/day.
  • Really? Wow, I have been thinking short articles are not good quality that people would think it is a thin affiliate site. And I don't write crap, which is probably why it takes me so damn long LOL.
    • [1] reply
    • Yeah, you don't need really long articles, plus you want people to click on your link. Also, since you want to create more and more backlinks, having a long article doesn't matter, you'll still put one in the resource box.

You can split your 800 words article in 2 parts, it's twice the amount of backlinks that you'll get, and you'll even have multiple listings in Google for the same keyword ! This week I've submitted a very long article that I splitted in 3 parts, each part submitted to top article directories.

For the keyword I targeted, Google show Part 1 from ezinearticles, part 3 from articlerich (both on first page), and part 2 on articlesbase (on page 2).

Edit : also if you outsource your articles writing, it usually cost you less to have 300 words written than 500, or 800 words. So you can have more articles

Congrats for your success, great for a first month.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • How can I get the exact course from Casey Gentles.... can anybody give me an idea?
    • [1] reply
  • How do you breakup one article into three parts and then put it on three different sites? Won't people notice that the article has no beginning and end (if the middle piece) or no end or no beginning if one of the end pieces?

I don't understand how this works...
    • [1] reply
    • I think this one was for me. The 3 parts are all submitted to all directories. EZA receives the 3 parts, articlebase received the 3 parts too, and so on. The only thing that I change is the title, but since the keyword is in the title it gave me multiple listings.

So I haven't the 3 articles on EZA showing on Google for that keyword, but one part from 3 different directories. If someone visit one article directory, he/she will find the 2 other parts.

So I end up with something like this (admitting the keyword is lose weight) :
      For EZA :
How To Lose Weight - Part 1
How To Lose Weight - Part 2
How To Lose Weight - Part 3

      For articlesbase :
Lose Weight The Easy Way - Part 1
Lose Weight The Easy Way - Part 2
Lose Weight The Easy Way - Part 3

      and so on.

I hope I made it clear enough, sorry for not having answered earlier.

      Tom

Er, a squeeze page is another name for landing page

A landing/squeeze page has ONE job to do; collecting the name and email of your prospective clients so that you can add them to your list-building.

      ---

      Talinn, Casey -
Do your articles send readers to your blog/presell, or to a squeeze/landing page, i.e. you're list-building? You seem to be using "Blogger" blog (p58 of free download); are you not at risk of getting it pulled (commercial site) at Google's whim?

Talinn, discounting outsourcing, I'm assuming you were/are submitting 10 articles/day in total, i.e. a couple for each niche? - not 10 for each.

Well done anyway! Yes, articles are definitely powerful
      • [1] reply
  • Wow, I wish I had the skills to write that many articles and that easy. I really hope you continue doing what you do and good luck
  • Remember Tallin, that a lot of the articles you write will bring you traffic forever (or at least for a few years). The first article I ever wrote on Ezinearticles still brings in 40-60 visitors each and every day. That was done in October 2006. I have more articles pointing to that site now, but I am pretty sure that article make between 2-3 $25 sales each week.

In other words, that one article I spent Two hours on has made me a total of $ 9.000 - 10.000.

If you write 10 articles each day you are sure to accidentally make a few of those each month. Maybe you already have 3 or 5 of this in your account right now.

Backlink to your articles to make them rank higher! Those with the highest click through rate should be worked on first. After you have spent 2 hours writing articles, spend a few hours backlinking some that you alreaddy have.
  • And aren't 2830 pretty good in estonia?

    2800 U.S. dollars = 30 558.6781 Estonian kroons according to google

And the average monthly income in estonia is 9000-10000 kroons. So a three month regular income from 60 hours of work....

You are actually able to live "The 4 hour work week" exept you need 5 hours a week.
Or you could continue to work 2 hours a day and be rich.

    • Very nice work. Action combined with value will make money. It takes time but with consistent action everyday it will come.

Also, I just came across one of your articles at Go Articles and visited the link to your Squidoo blog- you've done a lot of work in only one month and have produced some nice relationship advice.

Now as far as they lying controversy goes, from what I saw it looks like you've placed testimonials from the sales page on your Squidoo page which I think is fine as long as you not making any false claims or are trying to mislead anyone.

Your formula is simple and serves as nice blueprint for newbies.

Good googly moogly, 10 articles/day? Were you writing and spinning, or what? I procrastinate for at least 2 days before writing one article. I am a good writer, but years of having the write for school has totally soured me on the process, which is a mental issue for me.

  • This is a very inspirational post. This should get me motivated to write articles everyday (atleast 3-5 articles per day initially if I cannot start with 10 as you have done).

I have a couple of questions which I hope you will answer:

    1. I would like to ask whether you have submitted your articles to only a handful directories like ezine, dashboard etc or did you do mass submissions to 50-100 article directories?

    2. Any tips on improving article CTR?

    3. Tips on keyword research.

Your advice and help would be highly appreciated and I think all readers of this inspirational thread will benefit if you care to provide answers to the above questions.

    good luck

especially all free traffic and only 2 hrs per day.

works out at around $90 / hr which in anyones book is ok.

I guess the only thing is like you say its gets repetitive and boring and not every every niche will be so easily to duplicate.

great work and keep it up.
  • Thanks to all of you for your kind words!

The last two weeks were very good to me - about $900 each week! I am getting better and better. But it's still nothing compared to the success I am DREAMING to achieve.

I doubt I'll be satisfied even if I see $10K weeks. It's not the money, but the FUN in growing your business!

To hell with money itself! As long as I can continue doing my business (home, food, laptop, Internet) I don't care about money at all.

One week later it'll be my second month, and I'll create another thread about the experience I gained and what I did to better my earnings.

  • great thanks ... not sure if you do or not ... but I appreciate it alot ... im sure others will too
  • Hey man, definite props to you. It feels good to make money, doesn't it?

    That's the way uh-huh-uh-huh I like it!
  • Are your sites one page Talinn or how many pages are they?
Do you list build or are people going from your site directly to the sales page?
And are you doing other backlinking?

    Congrats! This is great news!!!
  • Terrific! now who else wants to say making
    money online is hard...

I must say that it is because you took
Massive action , and that is why you are getting
    Massive result!

    Congrats again!

    John
  • You deserve much credit for simply putting your nose to the grindstone and actually getting stuff done. i.e. You took ACTION in a big way. Result? You started earning decent money.

Too many beginners look at the potential work/hours involved in article marketing and then don't take the required action. Result? They make no money.

Two pieces of advice. 1) Now that you have started to make some reasonable income use some of it to outsource the articles. 2) Make damn sure you are capturing names and emails and building a solid list from your efforts. That way lies the gold.

    Well done.

I agree with Roy, you got to TAKE ACTION if you want to earn!

Last year I made no cash. Nothing. Making money online was like chasing some myth
that was just so mystical and attractive to me.

Now, because of this forum (and some other products) I have made a total of
$321.13! It has made me a believer!

Keep the faith guys. We are all a new breed of men and women!

One thing I have found about all who do make money, (myself included)
is having the ability to suspend disbelief. And just trust your senses...

Despite what other people say or do!
    They can have their "jobs"

    Keep it up warriors!

    • Talinn - you're an inspiration to us all Since I started getting into article marketing a month or so ago, I've seen some pretty decent results but like you I'm always striving to evolve and improve. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your story

  • Thanks for the post, it was very informative, I am also doing article marketing, but it is a long process, just getting my posts accepted takes more than a week everytime. Guess it will go easier later.
    • [2] replies
    • It will, as long as you focus on writing quality articles, you'll get an upgrade (if you're using ezine) and then your articles will get approved in no time
    • Hey;

Don't forget that Articlesbase and GoArticles can be just as good as EZA!
  • Hey Talinn,
Was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing a link to one of your sites/blogs where you promote CB products from? 70% CTR is really high (in my experience.)

I would love to how you are managing to get that! (not that I don't believe you - I just want to improve my sites... )
  • Thanks so much for sharing your success and information for all of us! Congrats and continued success!
  • Talinn,
Thanks for sharing and congratulations on a job well done!
    10 article/day -> landing page -> SALES!
    Wow, awesome! And simple!
    Great success story!
  • This is awesome. The funny thing about it is your post was my sign of direction. Just like you I started a few month's ago and have gained a world of experience in that short time and I too have been listening to the advice of the pro's and somehow "Articles" kept creeping up so I figured since I am NOT making any money with all my other efforts I started working on articles hopefully to be the golden ticket or at least the start. So thank you!! This was my breath of fresh air Good luck to you and glad to hear you finally broke through! All the best
  • Talinn,

Thanks for sharing your success story. Definitely motivating. I know you are probably busy, and a lot of questions have been asked here, but if you can find the time I'd love to hear your answers to the questions others have asked here. Except for the Clickbank screenshot request. That was weird.

    Best,

  • Hey Talinn

I've made a couple sales following some of Casey's techniques in his newbie guide, and now I'm waiting to receive his niche package and hopefully I'll ramp things up and see success like yours.

    Question for you -
You mentioned that you spoke to Casey for a bit, did he tell you anything specific not found in his guides that made a huge difference for you? Or did you just pretty much follow his plans in the pdf's?

I'd really appreciate your feedback, thanks!
    -Jon
  • Great Inspiration to everybody. It just shows that you have to keep on keepin on...

  • The way I do it, isn't to get 10 different ideas, no, I rewrite my articles. After you've done this a few times, writing an 250-300 words article isn't hard at all.

So, first I write 1 article and submit it. Then I open a completely blank document and write that same article again, more or less, this way I get a completely unique article every time and now an then I add some new information.

    Hope this is helping you
  • great post especially for the newbies ,thanks for sharing
  • GREAT job no doubt. I will say what made it
for you is the CONSISTENCY. That's where lots
    of folks give up!
  • Congratulations!! I am starting with article marketing and its great to hhear the success of others doing the same. Are you following a particular guide to get to your success? or are you just dong research here on WF to see what steps to take?

    • [1] reply

    • Hi NewbieGal.
Try to o a search for "Casey Gentles", he has a free report about article marketing.

Apparently, that's the method used here
      • [1] reply
  • Talinn, I can only hope there will be others to do the same as you did. You got something, and you came back to give it back. Fantastic. All the best to you, and I hope to see you again soon.
  • Congrats on your success and thanks for sharing your results.
  • Ten articles a day is not a lot for most people. For others like myself, we would rather, pull our hair out then sit and type about something you may not be especially interested in.

I whole-heartily believe in article marketing, my single biggest example would have to be Tim Gorman, with 1600 plus articles. He shows you all his sites and landing pages, and you see how it could work.

For those, of us, including myself, that have a tough time at writing, you may want to look at a different system that is more "ADD" friendly.

    I'm just saying!
  • Congrats, Talinn. Hope that's a small beginning of your
bigger success in internet marketing world.

Just keep doing what works for you and scale it up.
You'll see much much more commission coming your way.
  • Congrats, good to see someone doing well with article marketing - it really does work!
  • Great stuff Talinn, Congrats!!!

I had similar success, took me a couple months but I'm making a consistent $150 a day now. May write up the process of how I did it too if anyone's interested

    Paul
    • [1] reply
    • $150 is about what I made total for this month. Not that I'm complaining, I, just started taking action last month and still learning so I'm happy to have made my first few sales.

But that would be awesome to make that much daily, I'd definitely be interested in reading your plan!

      • [1] reply
  • way to go! That is awesome. I'm new here and to all of this online marketing thing. I have been lurking in these forums for a few days and trying to wrap my head around this in particular (along with other avenues). I just dont seem to understand.

    1. sign up at clickbank or another site
    2. Find adds that pay high %
    3. write article about the specified topic
    4. Post article on EZ

I have to be missing somethign.

I know i'm new and sorry for the newbie question
    • [1] reply
    • 1. Get a clickbank account and find a product to promote
      2. Get a domain name (or a blogger blog) realted to the niche
2.2 write a short review or a inspiring post on your blog, with your affiliate links in it.
      3. Write a bunch of articles around that niche
3.2 use the ressource box wisely and link to your domain / blogger blog

(instead of suing a blog, you could also redirect that domain directly to the affiliate link and use your article to presell)

      Hope that helps a bit

  • can you fill me in how this works
    • [1] reply
  • Article marketing has made a comeback for sure. I have recently revisited it myself.
  • And I'm looking into quitting Article Marketing more and more with each passing day now

It is, as I said, ultra boring and I want to play my game up by entering SEO.

Anyway this thread was back in August, and now it's nearing December I feel obliged to make a status update. I don't think I'll create another thread - all I have to say is that I have dramatically reduced the number of articles I write each day (from 10-15 to 3-5) and have been able to keep making around $3K-4K per month!

I bought myself a super powerful computer, a new guitar, a biiig TV set with the money - and quite frankly I can't think of anything else to spend the rest of the money on, so they just lie in the bank for now

I'll take $500-1000 out of the remaining money and reinvest.
  • Great post Talin!!

Your an inspiration to us all.
  • What an inspiring story - thanks a bunch for letting us know and for being kind enough to give us an update! Sure makes us newbie's more motivated. Well done ... and I'm sure you can find some other ways to spend that money but way better to make it work for you!

    All the best

    Mel
  • Talinn,

Congrats on your article marketing...............have you ever heard of mass article submitter? It may help speed up your article marketing process.
  • Hi Talinn,

Its great to hear a realistic story about money-making on the internet. Most marketing gurus claim to be able to help you make money instantly, but since I have started, this is far from true. It takes time, but you just have to be consistent and positive.

Thanks for posting your success story, and a couple of months down the line, I hope to post mine as well.

    Thanks
    Murtaza
  • You have been successful because you sought the advice of a MENTOR!!!!

If you want to make it in this industry you must find yourself a MENTOR!!!

    MENTORS MENTORS MENTORS !!!!

Ill say it til Im blue in the face
    • [1] reply
    • LOL that is funny! but I think the exact word should be...
GENUINE MENTORS, GENUINE MENTORS, GENUINE MENTORS...
      • [1] reply
  • It's nice to see someone who is able to to give a realistic view on what internet marketing is, and what it isn't. Too many times we get to see people's success through their rosy-eyed goggles. They flaunt their successes while forgetting that their were many difficulties that tripped them up along the way. It really helps someone, like me, who is new to the IM scene and needs the realistic approach. That way I know exactly what to expect along my journey.
    Thanks,
    -J
  • Thanks everyone for your kind replies. I agree that most IM'ers tell their stories in such a way that you feel like quitting after trying for just one week.

It's no shocker that there are a lot of different methods to make money over the Internet. All of them work for somebody - it's not the methods holding you back, it's that you're often not consistent enough.

Have a good mentor, do things right; and keep doing them right even if you earn no money for the first month. Or the second. Or the third (it took me three months to make ANY money). Keep in mind that you are looking into making the money most people aren't able to make with jobs that require them to wake up at 7 AM and prevent them from coming home before 6 PM every work day of the week!
  • Thank Talinn for sharing your strategy with us.
In "The Challenge 2010", Ed Dale taught a pretty cool method to create good content quickly. I thougt maybe this may interest you guys, too.

I cannot post links yet, so just go to youtube and search for:

  • Brilliant post, and if you think article marketing is dead or keep seeing death of article marketing threads around in other forums, then direct them to this. We have about 1900 articles on EA alone, and I can tell you we get optins, sales and people contacting us to do JV's every day, through these articles. Do they work? you bet your butt they do.!!!

Just keep adding more buddy, sounds like you are on a real winner here. And when you are onto a good thing stick to it. Smart marketing is all about doing things that work, and doing less of things that dont work.

Now just upscale and outsource more, and you have yourself not just a money spinner but a real business that fully automated.
  • So inspiring! Being determined is surely what it really takes to make the first sale in Clickbank. Im glad you did it. Congratulations!

    Andrea
  • Congratulations on your success. I'll try and write 5-10 articles a day and outsource some writing as well, just to speed up the output. Your results are very encouraging.
  • Question,

You said that you made sales the very first day you submitted the articles. Is it even possible?

I mean, it takes a ton of time for ezine articles to approve your articles (about a week) so how were you able to get your articles on ezine articles and then get traffic to them and then make $120 the very first day.

I am not doubting your or anything but it's not adding up.

Hopefully you will solve my dilemma here

EDIT: God Damn this thread is old. Why are people still keeping it alive (.......thinks about his own post...... ok my bad )
    • [1] reply
    • With premium membership your articles are approved within minutes. I published my first 6 articles on Ezine last night and had my first sale for $53 in less than 24 hours.

      I'm a believer.

  • I just love hearing success stories like this, way to go dude and thanks for sharing :-)
  • weird.....
  • EZA yet to approve my articles that I submitted 3 days back. Annoying!

Congrats mate on your success of making sales Really inspiring. Old school article marketing still works and you are the proof.

    I wish you more success
  • I don't think anyone realized it yet, but this thread is about a year and a half old LOL.

Since the topic has been pulled up, is the original thread author still around? If so, how are things going a year down the road? Still with Clickbank or have you branched out into other markets.

I like Clickbank, but I find it a lot easier to refer sales on physical products (like Amazon) instead of virtual ones.

    • Very true. It would be interesting to see if he kept up with this or what he did with it since. This is a case of when bringing up an old thread is worthwhile.
  • you said ezine also give a good conversion point for your sales, it's ok to put your CB affiliate link in the article that you post there?

Old thread but if it can help people, no quarrels.
  • Congrats! Stick with it. Your income will keep growing and growing and growing.
  • hi talinn,my question is you just put these articles you wrote on those sites, like ezine etc then wait the money coming? no seo work?
  • Congrats on your success!
This is how I started out too. I have about 400 original articles out there. Some are doing better than others, but they all give me good backlinks and bring traffic to my sites. The open secret is that making money takes focus and hard work.
  • Hello Talinn,

    great success!
please tell me Newbie, does you send your traffic from your article writing, direct only to your pre sell page, or you make seo, so that this traffic goes to your blog?

What ist the best place in a blog to set a pre sell page? In the "Home" page?
or in "about me" page ?

Think, if more Blog User come to my pre sell page who is on my Blog, then more conversion rates i make.

So what ist the best place to set my pre sell page?

    best wishes
    marco005
