How to prevent blog articles stealing?

I will creating my blog to start my business next week, so im working in the details now. I start to read success blogs about my nitche to be more familiar with language and also hot topics. But after search and read i can see that a lot of blogs just steal somebody else articles, i mean, they just copy and paste.

I can also read an article in spanish that is half paper translated from famous scientific journal (you can see that first citation is number 238 and there is no citations list at the end of article).

So now i thinking that i dont want to work hard making fresh content and read my article in somebody else blog.

I also read that google search alghoritm punish hard for this content that can be founded in several websites (this can also perjudice your work?)

Is there anyway to prevent this?

    • WOW, Copyscape is amaizng, i can see with it that almost every blog have a lot of copied articles somewhere in the net...

      What can you do after you see a blog plagiarism? Is there any effective way to do something?

  • Are you creating your blog with WordPress? There are WordPress plugins such as WP-CopyProtect which prevent content being copied/pasted.

    • Well, this disable the copy option from webbrowser, buy anyway there are methods for copy like by look website source code...

      I know that this is a good method to make things more difficult for those who stole articles, but it is not 100% effective

  • Honestly, I dont think there is a real way to prevent it.
    I've always had the mentality that if someone wants to do something bad enough - they will and to focus more on advancing and creating new content than worrying about others copying me.

      If you use WordPress you can use some plugins like WP Content Copy Protection. You can also redirect your feeds to Feedburner, and make your feeds short (summarize it).

      I did both methods, but unfortunately my content was still coppied.

      Just focus to make a new fresh content at least everyday.

  • I agree with ChrisBa,if someone is determined to steal your content there's not much you can do to stop them. Focus on serving your audience and you'll be fine.

  • It's not entirely possible to prevent copying. You can reduce it or make it difficult. One way is to disable right click using Javascript. Maybe a WordPress plugin can do this as well. You can also force your viewers to register first ... sort of like a membership site. You an also put up a warning sign not to copy.
  • In truth and at the end of the day, people will steal your content. The best you can do is take the preventative measures mentioned by others to minimize the theft. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Most of the people who steal your articles don't know how to market and use them to make money anyway. That's why they steal in the first place.
  • If you're so concerned about copying . . .

    Here's a radical idea.

    Invite other people to steal your content.

    Develop your own persona and voice. Talk about your business. Include your blog URL several places in the copy. Put your own affiliate or product links within the copy. Include your resource box at the end and ask that your copy not be changed.

    People that steal copy are lazy and won't always go to the effort to change the body of the post or article. Sometimes they will change things up - but how is that different than outright stealing?

  • Google rewards the website with the original content and punish those that duplicates the content.There system is intelligent enough to know which website provided the original content, so don't worry.
