Can anyone help with my frustration?

Hi there all,

I am in need of some help and guidance please!

I have recently tried using both TubeMogul and Scribd for my marketing and in both instances my video/articles went into Google high on Page 1 within hours.

However, within a couple of days they plummeted like a stone and now languish on page 4 and beyond!!!

Anyone got any advice or help as to why this happens?

Look forward to your thoughts and thanks in advance

Jon

    Hi Jon

This will happen with any new video/website, basically anything new to the search engines is going to ove around until the SE's can properly establish it's 'place' in the index.

The best thing to do is to get some traffic to your video by building backlinks perhaps by commenting on other people's youtube videos which may be relevant to yours, blog commenting and that kind of thing.

You need to allow time for a listing to be properly established.

That's known as the QDF effect (Quality Deserves Freshness). It's conjectured to be part of Google's algorithm. Essentially, it gives a big boost to new content that Google discovers (as long as it's unique). I've seen some articles stick around near the top at Google for up to 10 days or so before dropping. Other times, it only lasts a few hours. My educated guess is that it depends mostly on how competitive the keyword is, as well as how many other bits of new content Google is finding at the same time about that subject.

As the other commenter suggested, just get some backlinks going and it'll move back up. The basic formula never really changes.
