Hey guys its me ari! I am currently learning a lot about IM in a course i found online , i read reviews about it and its cheap so i went for it. I was told that in order to build a successful business i should focus on a niche and not specific products. This is very important so i went and searched a lot . I have came to a conclusion that i want to work on a niche that i understand and relate. I have a lot of ideas about products that i can create about making money online from home. This niche has 50 k searches in a month and on google it has over 1B results. I tried to find sub niches of this niche but there weren't any. What do you think? should i go for this niche or it is to popular? Thank you for replying
Also what hot niches are now in 2016? how can i find them?

It would help if you said what the niche was. But you should definitely be able to find a sub niche within it.

If you want to find niches you can check out stuff like Clickbank and see the gravity of the different products.

This is a go-to answer from people who don't have any experience. These are the absolute worst markets a newbie could get involved with.

      Hi Ari,

      So tell me.

What personal experiences can you share with us about making money online from home.

Have you done this yourself? Or will your products be solely based on what other people told you?

      Key word there is markets.

      making money online from home
This too is general enough to be a niche market. But not a niche.

There are shovels to sell that don't require actually ever having to make money online to use them, or for them to be useful to those who do make money online.

For example - if someone provided me with an information report about bookmarking sites that can help get traffic, and how to set up all these sites - this is a fair shovel - provided the proof is there that said shovel will do the job it says. And this is something that can be utilized by MMO, but the creator of this product does not need to confirm that they've made money doing this. They do however have to prove the traffic shovel method works.

I think this is because you are confusing niches with markets.

I have a lot of ideas about products that i can create about making money online from home.
So let me help you break this down a bit further to help you see more clearly what niches might be in the "make money online from home" niche market.

What things do people need to make money online from home?

Do they need websites? Well, sure some of them do.

What problems would someone who needs a website have? What questions do they have that you might have the answer to?

What specific problem can you solve that can help someone desperate to get their first website up?

Let's dive down a bit further into the water.

Let's say I need a website and I know what I want to sell. I want to sell stuff from Amazon as an affiliate.

Now I'm quite sure I'm not the only person who has thought up this great idea - to sell something from Amazon on my own website.

Now what do I need? Has this changed the category of people I fall into?

Is there possibly a group of people somewhere who need help creating their first Amazon affiliate site?

Niche defined (in a non marketing sense)

        1.
a shallow recess, especially one in a wall to display a statue or other ornament.
synonyms: recess, alcove, nook, cranny, hollow, bay, cavity, cubbyhole, pigeonhole
        "a niche in the wall"
Think about "make money from home online" as the ROOM you are in.

Think about "people who need a website" as perhaps one WALL in that room.

Now, looking at that wall, there is a dent where someone took a sledge hammer and made a huge dent. That is those "people needing to build their first website who intend to sell amazon products" niche.

This falls into make money from home online, no? We are still in the same room.

Now I can tell you from personal experience and with extreme confidence there is a group of people out there that are looking for this information.

How much will they pay for it? Depends.
Are there products these people will need to buy to make this website thing happen? Heck ya.

Do you think it would be easier to fill that little hole in the wall, as opposed to trying to spackle up an entire room?

Niche research = Find a group of people with a very specific problem.
Product creation = Solving the problem.
Marketing = finding ways/places to sell the solution

You need to dig a bit deeper. There are way too many actual niches in the MMO room.

It can take some time to narrow this all down if you are a one man show.

It can take some time to research, and learn enough to present the right solutions to the right people.

I won't kick everyone out of the MMO room whose not made money online. But I will call your bluff if you don't find the right crack to fill.

WOW first of all thank you for explaining this to me !
          a few questions:
          1. whats mmo?
          2. what do you mean about freelance?
          Here is what i know:
I can go on google adwords and find a group of people who need a solution for a problem like : " i have heartburn"
and then i can write an article about cures for heartburn and sell them the solution (product).
if i do this , i will get sales and maybe a small list.
The problem is how can i continue from that? how can i reuse my list if it is for super targeted people that i already solved their issue?
The thing with making money online is that i can always promote something like i can promote : making money with surveys, make money with scribie and etc
but when i go to a laser targeted niche like heartburn one how can i promote other products?
          thank you for answering

            MMO is "make money online"

But I want to stop you right there for a minute!

Did you make that money you made doing transcriptions on that site?

Are you aware that that site has a flipping
Get a 10% lifetime affiliate commission on the business generated
Uh, when you see something like "lifetime affiliate commission" you need to really read the details on that.

To me off the bat this says if the customer keeps ordering over and over, you are getting $ every time. This can go on for YEARS of no more work than getting someone referred to that site who needs ongoing transcriptions done. But I've not read the whole thing - you'll have to do that if it interests you.

So, did you make that money doing the transcriptions?

Ari, for the life of me I cannot understand why you think it's a good idea to create products about making money online.

Here's a question I want you to really consider:

Have you even made any consistent income using the methods you want to create products on?

Or are you just assuming your ideas will work?

And if they do work, why aren't you implementing them to make money for yourself?

Look, I'm not saying this to be mean or anything but you need to be realistic about what you're doing.

And for the record, there are many sub-niches for "making money online".

    Regards,
    Daniel

On a serious note, I guess we both feel the need to point out the absurdity of people selling MMO products on things that they aren't making money with either.

Ok, so Ari, there is a huge opportunity right in front of you and you are probably qualified or almost qualified to grab it.

      You have several options here.

Why go looking up heartburn or what ever - unless this is a problem you have?

You have insider information on transcriptions - and specifically on scribie.

Here are the things you could consider.

      1. Make a website about different transcription services offered on the web, do an informational site about what people should look for in a transcription service, and then promote scribie on that and see if there are other similar services that may have an affiliate program. You are going to have to drive traffic to this - and figuring out this part will need some creativity on your end, but it's doable.

Personally, I'd be dropping ads in free local directories and classifieds online.

      2. Make your ebook/report about how someone can get into making money online by doing transcriptions, and give a whole tutorial/walk through on how to use the scribie service, and some tips/hints on how to make the best of it. Sell that.

If you do #2, you can easily find similar types of programs to promote that will fall close enough to the freelance niche.

I think with some minor research on transcriptions at this point you could quickly get yourself into that "authority on the topic" place. You've done it, you know what the problems are with doing it, you likely have some solutions that might help others determine if this is a good fit for them.

Anyway, I've got to run to the store.

I can get a domain and make a website but how can people find it? Micro niche websites dont work anyomore after the google update , also i dont have money for ads.
The only thing i can really see me doing is write articals that are full with key words and affiliate links and submit them to article directories and pdf directories and maybe even make a youtube video. Do you think its a good idea?

Well, these are all exactly the same things you'd need to figure out no matter what niche you chose.

The key with starting with something you are familiar with is it can take some of the sting out of getting started from the content perspective.

Spend some time researching on site SEO and then make a good list for yourself of social media sites, article sites, etc where you want to drive traffic from.

You can even put a link from your new site in your signature here.

Any niche that solves a problem, or resolves around products.

If it's a niche that helps solve a problem, then that's what the site should do, it should help people.

You should focus on helping people. Being helpful will always be a "hot niche."

As far as products go, any kind of way you can group products together is going to work as well.

Other niche ideas are related to entertainment, design, education, life.

ari, you don't open accounts on social media sites, and invest time with them, "just for a blog".

You do it to make connections. Connections with people who might want to read your blog, or more importantly, buy your information. And connections with people who already reach those people, who can send people to your site.

Then, once you've built some of these connections, you can offer articles of real value to those peoples' audience through guest posting or even commenting.

Writing keyword stuffed articles and spraying them around article directories pretty much died years ago. These days, you're more likely to do yourself more harm than good.

Let's take your experience with scribie. You have two potential audiences here:

      > People who want to make some income from home by doing transcriptions.
      > People who need transcriptions done.

Where do these people hang out, and how can you effectively reach them? Hint: It ain't on article directories.

Figure that out, and you'll be closer to your goals.

BTW, you asked about the term "freelancer". A freelancer is someone who practices a skill or trade for multiple customers on a project basis, as opposed to being employed by a single company. The work you did at scribie was freelance work.

There can be all kinds of reasons for low gravity on a product.

For me, gravity is far from the most important when determining what to promote.

High gravity just means more people are trying to sell the same thing, which can also mean high competition in trying to get your campaigns seen.

But hey, if you want to move onto something else, go right ahead.

I have news for you. The people buying the product don't give a crap about the gravity. Gravity is supposed to measure how many affiliates are making sales. It doesn't measure how well or how easily the product sells, nor if the product is any good.

Assuming a good product, and a motivated affiliate with experience in the niche and a tightly targeted audience, you could be selling the bejeezus out of it and the gravity would still suck because you'd be the only one making sales. And if fewer affiliates are promoting because they too attach too much weight to gravity figures, that's less competition for you.

Besides, there are many ways to manipulate gravity to inflate its value.

Running out of products is a different question. Thing is, there is no such thing as an infinite funnel. Even Amazon has limits in what they can offer. People are going to move through your funnel, and sooner or later, some will reach the end of it. That's why you always have to have fresh blood coming in the top of the funnel.

I don't think there is any problem with starting in the "make money online from home" niche...

...Whether you are a newbie or not... bottom line is, you want to find a niche that you can relate to and are passionate about.

My biggest thing is, if you are going to choose a niche, make sure it is one you are ready and willing to stick with for the long haul...

...Because once you develop a reputation, it's pretty difficult to remove it while changing to something else.

You should definitely be able to find a sub-niche as just about every niche has them. And just a thought, even though a lot of 'marketers' say to stay away from the big 3 (health, dating, making money online), they are the 3 niches with a TON of sub-niches and a never ending stream of people.

Just make sure that there are already a bunch of products for it (if there aren't, chances are there's a reason for that…no market).

I hope that helps and good luck!
