Is ClickBank the best option for a Recurring affiliate product?

Hey dudes & dudettes,

So we're launching a recurring affiliate product (Website membership) in a few months.

Our dev team is building the product around ClickBank's (CB) system but it has some limitations related to it's upsell flows (for recurring products) that I'm not too crazy about.

The CB limitations are a concern since once we launch we're going to be pretty much married to CB (or whatever affiliate network we choose) for a while, so I'd like to learn about some other networks worth checking out before we get too deep into development around CB.

Can any of you recommend an alternative affiliate network that you've had direct experience with (for recurring products)? Or is CB pretty much the only big enchilada out there?

Thanks in advance,
Eric Sean Turner

Hey Eric, is the product in question an Internet Marketing related one?

If it is, you might want to consider using JVZoo.

While I've never had to use any affiliate networks like that as I've never made my own product, a lot of successful marketers use JVZoo.com for their recurring billing products (such as Alex Jeffreys).

Take a look at what they offer to vendors and see if it's a good fit for you.

    Regards,
    Daniel

P.S. JVZoo allows non-IM products as well but they're mostly used by marketers selling marketing or make money online material.

We used to use merchant account and managed our own affiliates via the membership software we used, that worked ok - meant manually paying affiliates which wasn't too bad via batch payments in Paypal and the membership software we used was excellent at tracking affiliates.

The challenge we ran into was more around PCI because we used our own system + merchant account - which led us to move to CB for both payments and affiliate program.

So far, that has worked very well and though the integration with CB is not perfect, it certainly solved our PCI problem which is a godsend!

I've never used JVZoo as a vendor (only an affiliate) but if I had to pick one affiliate network I would go with them.

Congrats on the upcoming product launch! That's AWESOME! You may want to check out jvzoo.com as well as clicksure.com. They are both like Clickbank and I'm sure that you'll have much success with them!

I hope that helps and good luck!

I say yes for JVZoo as well. It's harder for buyers to receive a refund from JVZoo as opposed to ClickBank (JVZoo's refund process is a bit trickier which definitely ads to the sellers bottom line)
