Basma Hi, I personally believe that one of the key things to make it in writing an article is the right keyword placement.
For example, in a 400 word article, the keywords can be used 2-3 times, because the search engines will classify as spanner.
There are three mistakes you should not do: copy - paste, false promises, exaggerations.
Fundamental in the work of writing articles for article marketing is computer software that help you to spread your article, like article Submiter, viral article publishers, and others.
I hope you have been helpful, good job!

In all due respect, over the years I have found it more effective to not get in the habit of writing for the Search Engines.

When you try to laboriously fit in KYs in your Body, you tend to sacrifice quality !!

As far as Blogging, with All in One SEO Pack on WP it makes it so you do NOT have to do this

I have to agree with this 100%.

I used to do all kinds of keyword research before I wrote my articles and I always tried to do things to please the search engines like build backlinks, etc.

Now I just sit down and write the article the way I like to write.

The funny thing is once I started doing this a few really cool things happened.

First off, I noticed that if I put my all into the article and wrote a really comprehensive piece of material that was more than 1000 words and included images, videos, infographics, slideshows, etc, the article ranked better and brought me more search engine traffic that any of the articles that I wrote previously.

Also, I noticed that bloggers and other website owners began to link to my content naturally without me even asking. This helped my articles to rank even better in the search engines!

The bottom line is that search engines like Google and Bing care about the user experience. This means that if you produce excellent content it is likely to be noticed by them and it will automatically outrank less comprehensive articles.

Once I started writing in my own style, for my potential audience, and basically gave up caring what the search engines thought, I actually started to get lots more organic traffic.

I don't do any off page SEO at all, but I do use the Yoast SEO plugin which I feel helps immensely in getting your on-page SEO right. I feel as long as you have good on-page SEO and you produce KILLER content, you can't help but be successful.

It's not uncommon at all to see my articles outrank articles that have been around for years in just a week or two.

My advice is focus on content quality and on-page SEO, and forget about building backlinks and trying to use the right keywords. All I know is it works for me.

BTW, it's a heck of a lot more fun to blog when you don't really care what the search engines think.

    Hi Basma,
Here is a simple step I use:
    1. Decide about the topic and main theme: Set your goal about the article, do some brainstorming and make few notes if necessary.
    2. Get knowledgeable about the topic. Do quick online study and keep key facts and data handy.
    3. Start writing, divide the topic into smaller paragraphs.
    4. Conclude the topic.

Neil Patel did a blog post on this topic a while back but much of it is still relevant to writing a good article, even if his post was about writing a blog.

    1. Make sure you research your topic properly
    2. Don't cut any corners
    3. Make it in-depth and informative (why should the reader care about what you're saying?)
    4. Proofread, and then proofread some more.

There isn`t a "work in all scenarios" recipe for your question.
The most important thing to have is a talent at writing, and from what you said you do like reading and writing so creating articles shouldn`t be a problem for you.
In order to create a good article you must put yourself in the shoes of your readers.
Do your research to see what are the problems face in your niche and create an article that will help solve those problems.

Have you come across an article that you would define as an "ideal article"? If so, break down that article and identify why it it is such a great article. Another option would be to study some of the best writers you know and apply what you learn on a daily basis to improve your skills.

Look at other articles in your niche and get some ideas on what they do so that you can model the same thing.

Then just start writing. It may not be easy but as time goes by, it will. The important thing is to START.

If you don't feel comfortable in writing your own content, you can always hire others writers to do this for you for a fee.

There is no such thing as an "ideal" article. No matter how good your article is, some people are going to like it and some won't. Worst of all is an article so bland that it sparks no reaction at all.

The closest you can come is to write for a specific person. People who are like that person should like your article. That's all that matters. Don't worry about the people who don't like what you write.

It's usually used as a cop out, but it fits here...

      "Haterz gonna hate."

Don;t waste your energy worrying about them when you could be applying it to creating more good stuff for the people who do like what you write.

I beg to differ. All articles I write are ideal. All articles I like are ideal. The others, meh.

OP, drop the idea of 'ideal,' you're just wasting time pursuing it. Do your best today and learn so tomorrow your best is better than your best today.

Practice, everyday. Just start off by stating things that's on your mind. Then eventually start to write 300 words a day. Then 400 words a day. Then 500 words a day. You may even want to buy a diary from the local grocery store or retail store. Then eventually once you've become comfortable with writing articles everyday with ease, write articles for your site that relate to your monetization option(s), and earn income from it.

Really, writing an article is like telling a story to your friend.
Keep it that way, like you're just storytelling, it'll be less complicated.

    Basma,

Since I am an advertising copywriter, I like to take great pieces of advertising copy and rip them apart in an attempt to find out what makes them tick.

I do the same with great blog posts. I took several of Neil Patel's posts, dissected them, analyzed them and then based on a blueprint I came up with, I started to write my own. I did the same thing with Jon Morrow's posts.

Copywriters also like taking copy that others have written and rewrite them out by hand. You may want to try that until you get the hang of it. Before too long, you'll start to develop your own rhythm and style and the pattern will become second nature to you.

Here are a couple of tips that'll help you out:

    1. Practice writing the headlines and subheads a lot. The headlines will get eyeballs on your posts and the subheads will aid the people that scan your posts.

    2. If you look at Patel's posts they are quite long. Search engines seem to be attracted to regular posts over 3000 words. They will even notice you more if your posts have relevant videos and info-graphics on them.

    3. Finally, try to make sure that your audience will actually learn something. If you are just delivering crap-o people just seem to know...

Everything here has a point. Just find your style and develop it. Nothing is ideal as there are people more knowledgable than you and they will try to comment on you, but there are also people that know little about topic you are writing and they will be happy to give you good feedback.

Try concentrating on Copywriting since there are a lot of information that will improve your writing and it will give you some ideas on what you should focus the most

One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was from a basketball coach when I was young. He told me to turn a weakness into a strength.

I suggest you turn this weakness into a strength and spend at least a full week learning all you can about writing content.

It really depends who your audience is or your target market is. Your "ideal" article is one that resonates with the people your are reaching out to. For a blog that posts funny picture etc, your are not looking for a english professor level article filled with big words but rather words your audience can relate to but if your audience is businessmen then the opposite is true.

You'll find several examples in this thread of things not to do.

    Don't use run on sentences.

Write short paragraphs. When people are reading on the internet they need lots of white space. Two to three sentence paragraphs are long enough.

As others have said -- know your audience. Picture one person and write to them.

Use your own personality and humor when appropriate.

Write a good lead that pulls them into the article.

Do enough research to know your subject, but don't get bogged down in endless research.

Don't worry about "ideal." Write the best article you can. Then rewrite and edit.

Write a better article the next time.

    Rose

  • Hi there,

I'm unclear from your post whether the article is for your blog or for distribution online.

I think of course once you've thought of your article topic you need to know up front what you want the article reader to do after they read your article ie do you want them to buy something, do you want them to share something, do you want them to opt into your squeeze page etc.

In this day and age Google doesn't want keyword stuffing, it really wants your articles to sound pretty much as though you were speaking them.

It's important to remember how many people use google voice so answering a lot of questions that you think are relevant in your content is important.

Once you have your niche topic, you want to decide on the key points that you want to talk about throughout your article. I have an article writer, but I always provide her with an outline, so I ensure all the important highlights are included. You need to decide what your goals are for the article, so that you can write it accordingly. Regardless, always outline the article with subheadings, this will make writing simplistic.

Also be careful in choosing article writers, be sure to look at their samples, how quick their turnaround is, how reliable they are, and their level of communication with you.

Good luck, I hope this is helpful.

    Have a blissful day.
