There are a lot of simple and effective marketing strategies. It only requires time and dedication. I would share 2 of my 14 favorites...
1. Posting on niche forums related to the product or service you are offering.
2. Guest blogging.

1. Affiliate marketing programs that pay you residual income is the way to go.

2. You also want to learn how to use paid marketing so that you know for yourself how to market and get sales. Free marketing works but it can take you a lot of time to master and get results. This will only slow you down and get you more frustrated.

3. You also want to master building a list and giving them value so that they like and trust you.

Where you're mistaken is that the marketing strategy does not stand alone.

Regardless of the strategy you use, you still have to have an offer that addresses an important demand in the marketplace.

You need to have compelling copy in your offer.

You need to have a hungry audience that your offer targets.

You need to remove the risk from the purchasing customer.

You need to have an easy, intuitive, and clear path to the buy button.

Prospects can get hung up on any of these things regardless of the marketing strategy you pick.

It's never as easy as saying "these strategies work" and "these strategies don't work."

Any of them can work like a charm and any of them can give you zero results. Strategies are only one small piece of the marketing solution.

I've tried a few strategies and IMO the easiest and fastest way to make money online is to sell ebooks that you don't write yourself and sell them on Amazon Kindle.

  As others have said a fairly reliable but long term strategy that many have found some success with is Blog Commenting, Blog Guest Posting, and Forum marketing.
  
  Do I think you can use these and develop a truly substantial Living with them all by themselves ?

Content marketing is still a very effective option.

Granted, content marketing can take various forms such as blog posts, videos, audios, etc. but the general way it needs to be effectively done is by...

1.) Creating high quality content that engages your audience by providing valuable info, by entertaining them, or a combination of both.

2.) Promoting that content so it gets the initial traction going to bring you the desired exposure for your business/brand.

When executed well, I have to say email marketing. Once you have a lot of traffic to your website, you can set-up your opt-in forms to collect and filter those traffic and build your own list. With email marketing, you can build trust with people who willingly subscribed to receive your content and promotions.

I guess it depends on the niche or what you want to achieve
Do you want to build list?
Become an affiliate?
Sell your own product?

Depending on what you want to do will depend on the strategy but if you were to ask what do you need in order to build an internet business, i would personally say:
A website
Auto responder account
Product

and start from there

Most effective for me are:

- Blogging

- Forum marketing

- Paid advertising

- Email marketing

For other people, Youtube is great, along with social marketing. You have to depend what works best for you.

How many different ways can this question be asked?

What's are the most effective marketing strategies?

What is the best way to get traffic?

What's the easiest and most successful way that a newbie can guarantee their results with minimal effort and no cost (to eager newbie)?

And what do we keep saying?

No one marketing method can and will work for everyone. You have to do the work and find the one that best suits you.

Yes you will win some and lose some just like my cousin Vinny said to the judge in his movie. Don't be afraid to start taking action.

You will lose some money, time, lots of effort get frustrated, spin you wheels but this is the only way to get to where you really want to go.

Success has a price.

Different things work better for different people..
