How to correctly resell websites and host them

This is a beginner question, and I apologize if it's been asked many times but:

If I am creating a website for someone (business) using WordPress for example... and am charging them for the hosting of the site, how do I set up the re-billing for the hosting?

Do I point the WP site to some external hosting site that offers a resell ? (idk if thats even possible, just thinking out loud)

If there are any simple guides or threads on here explaining this or someone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks!

There are a few ways to go about it.

If you are charging for the hosting, then you should really get a reseller account. You'd have to set up a system to bill them if you do this.

Your other option is to send them an affiliate link and have them purchase their hosting through who you recommend. This is only a one time commission you'll get of course, but if you ever decide you have to fire the client in the future or they want to fire you it's a much cleaner get away for both parties.

Reseller accounts can allow you to set up cpanel access so the client can go in any time themselves and make changes. Most likely they won't touch it - but nice to give them the option and let them feel they have more control.

Keep in mind, if you are calling yourself to be the hosting provider, you are now responsible if something goes all wrong on the host - even if it's at some random hour of the night.

So could I build the site with WordPress and use something like iPower (https://www.ipower.com/reseller/) to host the sites in order to charge for those costs?

Also, do you know of any good systems to set up a re-bill?
