There isn't necessarily any best way to generate traffic to your site as a beginner or expert.

That would depend on your strengths or at least what skills you are willing to develop.

If you're good at researching topics and creating videos on the matter, you'll want to try generating traffic through YouTube.

If you're good at crunching numbers and want to scale your business fast, you might want to invest in some form of paid traffic such as PPC.

As for me, I got started as a beginner by generating traffic through YouTube.

    Hope this answers your question!

    Regards,
    Daniel

Here are some best ways to generate traffic.

BLOG COMMENTING- There are several top blogs that get hundreds if not thousands of visitors on a daily basis. The proper way to blog commenting is to thoroughly read the post and if you have something useful to add to the conversation then leave a comment.

SOCIAL MEDIA- For most people Facebook offers the best opportunity for traffic. The formula for success is pretty simple: Optimize the Facebook profile and link back to your website.Provide useful and fun contenton a regular basis and share it.

TARGET LONG TAIL KEYWORD- Long tail keyword accounts for a majority of web searches, meaning that if you are not targetting them as part of your paid searches or SEO efforts, you are missing out.

START GUEST BLOGGING- Securing a guest post on areputable site can increase blog traffic to your website and help build your brand into the bargain.

POST CONTENT TO LINKEDIN- Linkedin has become much more than finding another job. The worlds largest professional social networkis now a valuable publishing platform in its own right.

It depends on the site, OP.

Now, not wishing to sound like a complete and utter unhelpful pillock, however, allow me to expand; indeed, as I expand (he says, munching his way through a pack of M&Ms).

Preliminaries, first. Before you decide to setup a site in the future?

    1. Business plan.
    2. Marketing plan.
    3. Optimization plan.

    No offense.

And now, in that effort to be a helpful, non-pillock: traffic generation for your site.

Plenty of ways to go about this, but I always start with SW. Gives me a nice provisional overview. (All will be explained momentarily.)

Let's say I have a site that reviews video games

    1. Plonk the term video games into Google.
    2. Notice a high ranker.
    3. Plonk GameSpot.com into SimilarWeb.com
    4. Digest what I see on SW.

    Source: https://www.similarweb.com/website/gamespot.com

I'll include the basic information from that SW, for anyone who doesn't have a paid account.

Game Spot traffic originates from these socials:

    1. Facebook
    2. Reddit
    3. Twitter
    4. Youtube
    5. Stumble Upon.

Game Spot traffic originates from these organic search terms:

    1. gamespot
    2. fallout 4
    3. the division
    4. fallout 4 companions
    5. ps4

Game Spot traffic originates from these referring sites:

    1. Gamefaqs.com
    2. Feedly.com
    3. Gamerankings.com
    4. Metacritic.com
    5. Zamunda.net

Basic stuff. But it gives me some ideas. And, not to dis GS, but they really need to UP their presense on YT. Anyway, onwards.

The above data gives me a fairly decent overview of where they get their traffic, a starting point if you like for a more in-depth traffic study. What I'd do next is examine it in detail and literally look at all of their traffic platforms. I'll get tons of ideas and I'll soon be able to form an initial traffic plan. Give you an example: the game Fallout 4 - still very hot right now, and only set to get more hot as the modding community becomes available in June/ July on XB1 and PS4, and of course as DLCs get released - is an obvious long-tail target for search campaigns.

I hope some of that gets you started.

    - Tom

Paid advertising. There's a TON of ways to drive traffic to your website, but i would stick to paid advertising because it's immediate, it's easy to get into, and you can test and see if your campaign is a good one based on the fast paid advertising you're doing. Don't get confused by all the free marketing out there. Do paid advertising first, then expand your knowledge later (with free marketing) after you're successfully making money with paid advertising, and when you have alot of free time on your hands.

There is no best way that will fit everyone. It does not matter if you are a beginner, intermediate or even advanced marketer.

Your job (part of the work for you) is to find the 'golden' nugget advertising strategy.

And it all starts with you!

Here are some questions to start asking yourself:

    1- FREE or Paid Traffic?

Do you have lot of time to invest in FREE Traffic strategies like social media, youtube or blogging?

Or do you have more money than time to invest?

If so, then paid advertising may be a fit for you.

2- What are your 'best' forms of COMMUNICATION?

Are you better at communicating via audio, video or text? Find your strength and start by using it.

-If you are 'naturally' good at text, then blogging, articles or even text ads may be for you.

-If you are 'naturally' good at communicating by having people see and hear you, then video traffic may be a fit for you.

    3- Perseverance:

No matter what traffic source that you will choose, it will always take time, effort and even money to learn and find the ones that will actually work for you.

    This is the work.

One of the easiest way to increase blog traffic is by the quality of your content. Make sure your content is original, relevant and informative. Then, do a blog commenting. If the readers find interest with you, it can lead them to visit your blogs.

Everyone will give you their BEST answer but I think that when ever you post an ad whether it is free or paid, you want to know if that traffic is good or not. See not all traffic works the same and for every marketer out there. You want to track every source so that you can use the ones that do work for you over and over again, and get rid of the ones that are not working.

    Tracking everything is KEY.

Obviously there is paid advertising. This is the easiest and best way to bring targetted traffic to your blog. If you are tight on a budget, get your social media presence up! Make sure you make a facebook page, twitter, and instagram. Start connecting with people who are interested in what you have to offer. Go on blogs and offer help with a problem. The more you engage in social networking the quicker your site will get noticed. Dont give up =)

aww the million dollar question! To have the best chances at success is to set aside a marketing budget for your business. Say between $500 and $2000

If you can't do that right now there are free sources but beware that it can take you a very long time to build any income if at all. What I am saying is the money you make with free traffic you NEED to reinvest in paid traffic.

This is one reason why 98% of marketers fail to make any money online cause they think they can just do free marketing and the money will roll in.

    Doesn't work that way!

PPC if you have the budget for it, or content marketing, guest posting and youtube marketing if you can't spend any money in traffic.

For a beginner I HIGHLY recommend forum marketing. Find a forum related to your niche. Create a signature link that points to your blog or squeeze page. Go in and add value to people threads.

That is one of the fastest way to get traffic.

Don`t encourage that! The majority of people reading your post will start spamming like crazy in the hopes to get lots of traffic...

  • It really depends what your website is about. If its about food I would go to Pinterest, if its Internet marketing than Twitter would be my choice. Cars, pets, health and beauty, fitness for example than I would be on Facebook. The last thing you want to do is to try and do everything and everywhere, Focus on 1 max 2 social media platforms and connect with ppl who are related to your niche, interact with them on a daily basis, post to your blog at least once a day and ofcourse make sure you are bulding your own email list

The more sure but not the more fast is to upload daily new content. Work also a lot with the description and the tags on the social media post.

SEO is free targeted traffic, but you need to wait time before to reach first rankings and beat potential competitors

I curious usually take how long to see your SEO results work?

how many months consider a " decent way " next does it will always be there?

I doubt so right as your rank will start drop if never do anything after some SEO works??
