Hosting for multiple domains with individual IP addresses

I am currently hosting multiple domains on a Hostgator reseller account, but have recently learnt that doing this will damage the rankings of these domains, and that each domain should have its own IP address. Is there a host that I can move do that will host these domains with different IP addresses, or do I need to have different hosting account for each domain?
Thanks guys.

  • As long as all domains are on the same server the setup would be no different from any other multiple domain setup.

The fact that you are running each domain on aseparate IP adress should be irrevelant.

  • That is not true. You should be careful where you get your information because that is completely wrong.

It is possible to buy multiple IP addresses so your web sites are not associated by IP or a shared server but that has no bearing on your rankings.

Under what theory does this damage your rankings?

    • I've come across this a few times in the past, but most recently in a webinar I watched yesterday on the subject of SEO.

  • Just purchase a unique ip for each site in your hosting, everything will go right.

  • Unless you're trying to game the search engines, IP addresses should be the least of your concerns. Everything is name based hosting, so IP's are really irrelevant anymore despite what the SEO "gurus" tell you.

  • Hosting websites with separate IPv4 addresses used to be a useful tactic prior to 2010. From a current SEO perspective, however, using separate C block IPs is not as important as it once was. There is still reason to separate sites by IP as there are still some benefits such as avoiding bad neighborhoods, not having a shared IP used for spam by another customer, creation of VPNs, not needing to worry another hosting customer might cause the IP to be blacklisted.

Hostgator started a subsidiary to cater to this demand. In the US, they have SEOHosting.com and overseas is SEOHosting.co.uk (These were also part of the Hostgator sale to Endurance International Group.) There are still several hosting companies that advertise under "SEO hosting" in SERPs.

[LINK] Why Should I Use SEO Hosting?

Google used to be able to discover link farms and interlinking by shared IP addresses. Back in the days of creating minisites and cross-linking for SEO, separate class C addresses helped avoid detection. I remember a company who put several thousand sites on a single IP and, when an algorithm change was made, almost all sites were delisted overnight. SEO hosting helped with avoiding this possibility back then, but now search engines have much more advanced ways to detect related sites.

    • SEO hosting is expansive..anyone has any other alternatives ? Are there any reseller hosting that will create a different IP for each new hosting?
  • A wide range of resources is available now a days in market. If you want to run your online business smooth then I can recommend you some useful resources. One of them is VirtueNetz and they are offering different silver and gold packages now a days. It will be helpful for you.
  • I run multiple domains on a GoDaddy reseller account using VPS servers and all domains on that server use the IP of that server. Usually, there's no need to purchase separate IP addresses for websites unless you have a specific need for that IP.

  • I don't think it is true. How it is going to damage your ranking? It is totally irrelevant. From whom you got this information? You can try other hosting network. Take a look here
