If both hosts are cPanel hosts then it's easy enough to move a site. I recommend watching several YouTube videos about it until you're familiar with all the steps.

Provide them with this number and they will transfer your Domain to "Go Daddy" within 48 hrs. Hopefully it will solve your problem. If not, Do let me know. I would love to help you

That would only move the domain though, not the site?

    You don't use cpanel?

I use hostgator for a lot of stuff and am really happy with them and what they deliver.

Are you sure the problem is the host? Is your site properly optimized? In terms of moving, the new host should be able to handle that for you very easily.

If you move to a shared server on GD, it will be just as slow.

Is your hosting package big enough to handle your site? You may be able to just upgrade your current account. If you are on a "starter" plan, you might have a quick fix.

    1. You need to backup all your files and database from your old hosting provider
    2. Register with your new hosting provider
    3. Upload all your files and database to new hosting provider
    4. You can ask for temporary URL to test your site
    5. If everything works great, then just point your domain to new name server.

You may check the reviews first before registered with new hosting provider. Other recommendation for you is asphostportal.com. If you use asp.net, I would highly recommend them

Your site is too slow and want to move to godaddy? Bad move

Use Hawkhost, they're cheap and decent (compared to godaddy).

Anyway, usually new host offer free site migration.
Or hire someone on fiverr (change all of your password afterwards)
Or hire someone here who offer web design service, usually they're able to move your site for cheap.

If you use CMS, you need to know how to backup, create and move databases. Look for tutorial on youtube.

If it's just static website, just zip the files and upload to new hosting.
