Ok i see that thee question and answer type post get alot of response and and i know im learning alot as well as others i sat and thought about another question that i believe should spark a flame as well!!!

ok with this whole google slap thing taking place can one still make a plain one page "pre sell" page with headline, bullet point and opt in form...

or

is it better to use a static page attached to a blog with updated related posts???

which is better this day and age?
will google penalize the one page pre sells due to the lack of updated content??
will the blog add extra crap links (related posts, etc, etc) that will actually distract potential buyers and lower the conversion ration...

ALL please chime in!!

Are you talking about Adwords (which I'm not that familiar with) or organic ranking/SEO (which I'm a little more familiar with)?

For SEO, In general I'd say a blog has advantages over a static pre-sell page, if all other factors are equal, due to new content constantly being updated and the flexibility it gives you in terms of ranking for different keywords. However, if you've done your keyword research first and you have the right onpage factors, and you have lots of quality links pointing to a static page, it can still rank very highly.

  • I would also like to know which is better in certain circumstances. Does one have a particularly better conversion rate?
