Promoting clickbank prods in blogs - how?

Let's say you have a blog with a bunch of articles (posts) on a specific niche and you want to promote a clickbank product for that niche.

Do you just put a small blurb and a link to the CB product at the end of each post?

Or do you put a banner ad in the sidebar?

Both?

You could do both or either.

Rotating several clickbank product images in a sidebar display would be good as it will just look like paid advertising which most people expect on a blog.

Although, you could also hotlink keyword text within a post to the [hotlink]clickbank products[hotlink] or once in a while a post just for the clickbank product with an image if possible of the product hot linked or add a hot linked image of the product to a normal post with the post text wrapped around the image.

It also depends on the niche and your readers as to which of these would work better. Unfortunately, you will just have to test to see what gives you better response.

My personal opinion if you put a small blurb and a link to the CB product at the end of each post you might tick your readers off with that much advertising. You might add it to every third post to keep it on the blog home page. Once again this is just my personal opinion.

If it is a product you have used before, I find writing an honest review of it, with a link in the content works well.

Test. I agree with spicer about an ad at the end of each post. Might tick off the audience (of course you never know until you test).

Banner ads can be very effective. Test different ones until you find a clear winner.

      Thanks for the replies.

I never thought about how posting a link at the end would tick off visitors. But now that you mention it, you're probably right.

I'll stick with banners and links within blog posts.

From my experience, text links get more clicks than banners. You should try and include a call to action at the end of your article along with the text link. It doesn't hurt to include the text link at the end of each article, but you can test and see what works best.

If you make your banners to show text and call to action, it works as good as real text link!

They have a banner now which can relate directly to you content. Looks like adsense, but better. I have it on my blog now, but just starting.

Work keywords into your posts and link those to your clickbank product. That way, the flow is much more natural. People see the keyword phrase is an active link, and click to read more without being told to do so. They don't see text links as ads until they get to the sales page.

Blatant advertising tends to turn people off so this is a great way around it.

Of course, writing a review of the product is an excellent way to get sales. Again, use the keyword phrases that best describe the product and link them to the CB sales page. When you get to the end of your review, a note saying: "Click here to read more about this product" and link "click here" to the sales page. That works well, I'm told.

Writing an honest review of the product is always the best way to go.

If your audience trusts your judgment and you hold a good relationship with them, an honest review will always be the best way forward.

If your blog is new or you don't have the trust of your audience yet, the new clickbank widget for your blog sidebar will be a great addition while you build that relationship.

I agree, I post a review of the product with feedback on how it helped me and link the product name in the blog post to the sales page.

Be sure to tell your readers to take a look.

This personal recommendation is very powerful if your readers trust you.

You can use banners but what seems to work for a lot of people
is to write a review post in your blog of the product you are
    trying to promote........

.and then at the end of the review post, put your affiliate link,
preferably in anchor text with the keyword that you are using
    for the product....

Again, a lot of people are using this technique to make a decent
    income..Good Luck!

      Awsome. Thanks for the replies.

I definitely like the reviews idea as well as the clickbank widget. Right now I have a blog set up on Blogger but I may change it to it's own domain.
