If you wanted to make money in weight loss niche now, how would you go about it?

Hey fellow warriors,

I want to brach out into the weight loss nicheas I have a site sitting with some good domain name, but I am a little undecided about the way to go.

I did a lot of research on clickbank and offervault and lots more, and there seems to be two main different streets to go down.

One would be the info product street, offering weight loss programs, diets, recipes, self-help ad motivational etc.

The other I can see are physical products like nutrients, pharmacy etc.

There might be some aff programs for coaching sites as well but I haven't yet found one that convinced me.

What would you recommend, what are your experiences? Any good affiliate sites you can recommend? Are clickbank products any good?

Thxs!

If you were starting out in that niche, what would you go for?

Are you looking to specialize in losing by exercise or diet changes?

The two mix of course, but one should be the higher emphasis imo.

It really isn't necessary to have any experience in this niche at all to be successful. Most of the heavy lifting has already been done in terms of research, information, product evaluation, etc.

A technique I've found to be particularly effective is to buld a list of buyers by initially offering Clickbank products. Clickbank's iron-clad 60 day unconditional money back guarantee can quickly establish a base of credibility and demonstrable trust.

Be prepared to counterbalance the typical hype of vendor sales pages with objectivity, disclaimers, (and perhaps infused with deserved sarcasm) to bring it inline with recognized published sources.

Consider selling those customers relevant Amazon books, products, supplements, exercise equipment etc through email promotions and perhaps integrated offline marketing methods such as telemarketing, postal mail, and even personal sales (for larger orders or high-end products).

I tend to go for excersise, but this is just my personal, pit-of-stomach feeling. I am not sure it is a wise decision as far as marketing goes.

From researching a lot of weight loss forums people tend to want to lose weight fast, and some are really desperate, and even those who are already doing well want to speed up the process by buying supplements, caffeine pills and all sorts of things and that's where the money is I believe.
Still, I am not sure that's why I'm asking

I've been doing that niche for the past couple years, the interest and growth is insane! Specifically plant-based diets but there are many niches. It's always the same approach for me, build a following who know, like and trust you then offer things for sale. I just launched my second ebook and it's doing very well. I also have Amazon associate links, youtube ads, Patreon, blogs ads (until recently).

I lost a bunch of weight and lowered my cholesterol so I started sharing my results with others, my recipes, weight loss/health advice. It's called Potato Strong - 16K followers on YouTube, 18K on Instagram, 10K on Facebook there are bigger followings of course. I answer questions a lot and post recipes on various facebook groups, share my food pics on Instagram, do youtube videos.

This is true, Paleo is huge right now as well. There will always be some new fad diet that comes and goes. A flavor of the month diet so to speak.

I think you have a great advantage if you have actually a personal weight loss story to share.
I don't, or rather I have lost a lot of weight but have nothing to show how or why ... no story to sell there. I can't go round telling people - hey get yourself fired from your job! I lost 24 pounds in the first 6 months ... lol

One of the most money to be made marketplaces. The more competition the better.

Separate yourself from your competition. Find a high quality product that has good earnings per clicks and create yourself a free giveaway leading the prospect into your digital affiliate product in a way without selling so to speak.

After you have that all set build a landing page giving away your free report or whatever...

Send a little traffic and see how she converts. Once you have something that is working meaning they are opting in to your list and hopefully you have a decent conversions into your affiliate promotion. On the front end for first time visitors you can hit 40% or higher at times.

The make sure you have a personal email sequence set up to drip onto your prospect and you will get more buyers with that same traffic you already sent! At this point you have a well oiled and optimized funnel set up.

    Now scale up your traffic!

What is nice about this market like you asked and having a list is you can suggest and selling both digital and physical products on the backend.

It could be advantageous if you really wanted to Engage people to do personal videos showing yourself or maybe showing some of your Routines.

As myob said it may not be necessary but would only further your help in captivating people's attention and building a rapport with them

If i could, i'd probably try to be an affiliate for BowFlex, Jillian Michaels products, and even Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem. (if possible). If none of these will suffice, i would pick a good weight loss product on a affiliate network, and market the heck out of it. There are tons of weight loss products out there. You can sell the most obscure weight loss product and make a killing from it (assuming that you have a backend marketing strategy). Even something as simple of a "hyped up" jump rope.

Yeah, I agree Nutrisystem is good... well it at least was. But recently they changed their Commission payout and it is miserable. Not worth pursuing anymore

Use clickbank product but not the weight loss niche; It's oversaturated if you're just going to start.

What I advice you instead is to pick another product, check if the landing page is good (put yourself in the shoes of the buyer) if it is then go with it. Make a blog (one page site) and add a review content about the product, add some freebies to catch your visitors emails.

Now the promotion, The ONLY thing that works for me is the facebooks ads (80%) and bing ads (20%). Make a compaign and send visitors to your website, (not your affiliate link) I'm sure you'll find plenty of usefull informations here in the forum .

    Good Luck

Find a good rebill product if you're wanting to go down that niche.

I also am in the weight loss niche, I am doing affiliate products working with ad copy for driving traffic to my website. You can easily take traffic from the top competitors in the niche by searching on google ( the one with the most traffic of course are the paid ads, usually at the top of the search screen. Check out similarweb.com they will do a competitors analysis and pretty much tell you where to place your ad, how your ad should look, etc based on the top competitors in the niche. There is a free demo of how it works on the site.

    Hope this helps.

First, I would find a subniche that is fits the affiliate product I'm pushing like a GLOVE

Second, I would find diet blogs that use Disqus or Facebook for comments

Third, I'd find posts on those blogs that deal with the PROBLEMS solved by the product I'm pushing

Fourth, I'd post credibility-building content that opens the minds of people to the DOMAIN I redirect from.

    Rritz,
This is one of the hardest niches if you go after search terms used by half of the world and my grandmother. I know a ton of weight loss since I was a former horseracing jockey for nearly 20 years and am a nutritional consultant today.

Without bragging, I know more than most dietitians since they preach theory but for me It was daily routine keeping my weight down at 51kg!

So I think if you want to become successful in this niche, go for a subniche and get educated so that you can start a blog with great content/reviews and get people on your list.

If you deliver real value you're list will grow fast and you will make serious money without having to compete with the big boys in the serp's.

    Good luck!

You've got less than a snowball's chance in he!! if you try getting traffic through the search engines. In addition, it is absolutely essential to build a list, as conversion rates are extremely low on initial product exposures.

What I've done in this and dozens of other niches of similarly intense competition is first establish a significant presence in relevant online/offline publications that are read by yout targeted prospects.

If I were jumping into the weight loss niche I would check out some authority sites and figures that have already achieved success so I can do some form of reverse-engineering. Then I would put my focus into creating a brand that is known as the go-to-source for weight loss solutions.

    - I would setup a blog and post amazing content daily.
    - I would setup a YouTube channel and post amazing videos daily
    - I would get involved in relevant forums and facebook groups helping people
    - I would focus on building a list and building a relationship with my subscribers
    - I would setup some Facebook ad campaigns and test....test.....test....
    - I would monetize starting off with affiliate products and eventually introduce my own products and services

I like to keep things simple but of course each step will require to pay attention to detail, but don't try to be a perfectionist. Just focus on taking action and if you make mistakes, just learn from those mistakes and move on. If you want to minimize your mistakes, get a coach/mentor.

There are several "targeted" sub-niche markets, and http:/MarketHealth.com offers several CPA and revenue share products relative to "weight loss".

As mentioned above by myob, I am a firm believer; nobody needs to be weight loss guru to market weight loss products, simply locate "groups" on facebook, forums, google+, etc... And position yourself between the person seeking the solution, and guide them to the remedy. As it's been said; all the research, products, and information is out there, simply position it, market it, and "communicate it" properly... and 'viola'... You'll do just fine.

Someone mentioned "saturation" yada, yada, yada... I suppose they should stop selling gas on all four corners of intersections too, makes me cynical when I hear people cry;"saturatation" - there's over 11 Billion people in this world, and I'll be the first to admit; "my hose ain't big enough to soak em all, lol"

It's a competitive niche, but it's also very profitable!

I've seen many affiliates making really good money with weight loss offers. Diet pills and supplements are very demanded, especially for the market wanting to lose weight fast. There's always a new super food or weight loss ingredient trending and you can take advantage of this. Product reviews are very effective, especially for popular products. As others mention above, good content, workout routines, nutrition plans, etc, will also help engage your audience and could very useful when driving traffic from social media.

There are many weight loss offers at Moreniche network for this niche offering very generous commissions. Drop me a message if you are interested in more information!
