How Do Clickbank Products Convert?

Well i wanted to choose a product to promote today, and omg. All sales pages have 1 hour long videos, or long walls of text. How do they even convert?

Do people HAVE to link to these pages, or can i write about the product and then send to buy form instantly?

This is a real question, because i don't know what to do

I've promoted quite a few ClickBank products with VSLs (video sales letters) nowhere near an hour long (and they're still there).

As for the long walls of text, long form sales copy performs exceptionally well when done correctly.

Granted, there are short VSLs and written copy that out-converts longer form but that's not a rule.

The long sales pages are designed and mostly tested to convert. People who are desperate for solutions to their problems can be patient enough to know everything they can about that solution. They don't care viewing long videos or text as long as it will help them solve their problem... so you definitely have to link to these pages.

Here is what I do. Create a product review for that product and optimize it in the search engines. By doing this, I am only funneling people who are just at the fence of buying and when they read my review they often end up clicking my affiliate link to the salespage where they just head on to the order page and finally buy. They have been in the salespage before and that is just fine. Most people do not buy on the first time they read the salespage. They have to search for other peoples opinions online before they buy. This is the reason why my technique works and you can do that too.

    Enjoy the profits!

It's possible. Just be sure to read the vendors TOS or contact them to see if they have any objection. Some vendors don't allow it and will terminate you.

One problem with sending traffic directly to the cart is it does not set the Clickbank cookie. So if you send them to the cart and they do not buy but they come back the next day and buy, you will not get the commission.

There are tricky ways to set the cookie before you send them to the cart. Many involve setting a "3rd Party" cookie which is blocked by Safari and Firefox. Also some methods may be considered "cookie stuffing" and could jeopardize your Clickbank account.

Here is a good article about what you are trying to do. The main thing is to make sure the vendor approves before you do this.

Most sales pages are tested and tested by the vendors. But, if you do not like what you see go tho their affiliate page, many have multiple sales pages. You can also contact them to see what they have. I know one vendor that has three different sales pages that affiliates can link to

Follow the advice about asking the vendor. But, why do you assume that what you find long/daunting feels the same to the target audience?

Yeah... You first need to do a little research on the product you want to promote. First is there even a demand for it. Second does the product you want to sell convert. Does it have existing sales or earnings per click.

Once you have something that is in demand and a product that is proven to sell then yeah you can do much better by writing a review or something around it. Maybe even collecting a lead at the same time.

My products don't have a long sales page, it sells itself, because it's needed.

My conversion rates sits at 53% when the order form is presented.

How about your sales page, the page they see before the order page?

I don't have many affiliates, but according to clickbank about 20% of the traffic converts.

I generate most the sales myself - so it's not displayed.

I also believe the affiliates that do get sales are not really "promoting" in the real since, they put up auto-generated review sites, coupon sites and stuff. So when some customers visits my site and decides they want to subscribe, they probably do a search for "reviews on unlock the inbox" or "coupon codes for unlock the inbox" and their site pops up, they click a link re-direct back to my site and then they get the sale for it.

They earn the sale though being clever - letting google do the work for them. I'm really not sure how I feel about this method, there are pros and cons to everything.

Thanks for the info. Is your sale page too long, the kind the OP has an issue with?

Your best bet for selling anything successfully online is with email marketing. Don't link directly to a sales page. You have to make email marketing the most important part of your conversion process. Same applies to blogging, and getting people on your blog notification list.

Usually long video or text sales letters converts better than short ones, as people want to know as much as they can about the product you are offering to them.

I almost never use vendor sales pages for my Clickbank promotions, mainly because of the irreconcilable disdain I have for their style. This post may be helpful for your situation as well: Direct Linking to Clickbank order page
