Dear Warriors,

what struggles do you encounter when starting and/or growing a blog?

I'm currently building a course to help changemakers, startups, influencers and coaches build impactful blogs and I would like to learn about the obstacles you guy are encountering, so I can provide more value.

- Thanks for your quick feedback.

Probably for most people it is constructing useful Content on a long term consistent basis

People just don't know what to write about. This is, I think, is their biggest challenge.

I agree, building the right type of content that brings value to your readers is perhaps one of the biggest challenges. So it is knowing your audience and their needs. The two sort of intertwine as when you know your audience you will also know the type of content you should write

I think the biggest problem most people have when starting a blog is they have no idea about the niche in which they are blogging. This happens because people are starting blogs to make money so the niche they choose is based on profitability research and not something they know about.

Then they end up buying plr but they can not re-write it because, like I said, they do not know the niche. Their new blog is of no use to anyone so they get no traffic and the traffic they do get is gone in a matter of seconds.

For me the first challenge is blog design. It took me awhile to learn WordPress interface. But now I see how vastly superior it is vs Blogger. Designing is my major hurdle, so I just choose something super simple.

First issue is: where will you find your visitors?

You can't just expect to post content and have people find it. Hooking up some good traffic sources of people already interested in your topic is critical.

Expect around 6 months to be necessary to start getting consistent appearances in google search results.

Engagement. Probably the biggest challenge. People like to passively and silently consume information; they don't much like to participate. Expect only 1 in 100 visitors to comment.

Staying relevant to your readers. After awhile, they can get a "oh, I know this guy/gal...I don't need to see their stuff anymore, because I already know all about it" attitude. Mix it up: change your media, throw a video in there from time to time, a pdf report.

Most people do not stick with their blog. They give up after a few weeks. Out of the group of people I started blogging with in a viral syndication group in 2014, this many had stuck with it after a year besides me: 0.

The most common struggles that come with growing a blog are:

    - creating quality content that engages your audience

    - promoting that content effectively

    - remaining consistent with the above 2 things

I agree with Daniel, and many times people seem to be good at one but not the other. So then it seems like a matter of stepping out of the way of your business and finding a person who IS good at the second thing.

I know it is something I have struggled with also.
