Keywords for a forum

I'm looking for a tool to help me research and target keywords for my forum. I just ported all of the data over to vBulletin and I just installed vBSEO so all I need to do now is to specify and test the strongest keywords I can. Any ideas for someone who's technical knowledge can be written on the back of a beer mat?

Are their proven services out there where someone would do the research for you (analyzing competitors site and matching them up with a proper in-depth study of your own existing forum) or are there software packages that will do this for you?

    It depends on if you want to pay or want something free. There's many free keyword programs such as Google's Adwords keyword tool, Spyfu, and many others. Of course, you'll get the best most comprehensive results more along the lines of what you need, if you go with a paid program.

    For a paid program, I recommend Market Samurai. Hope this helps!
