Are we allowed to sell unique wordpress themes here?

I am in the process of making a wordpress theme specifically designed for warrior forum members.

I am wondering...

Will I be allowed to sell that in the marketplace?

    In the WSO section...yes.

    As long as they are truly unique.

    If they are a copy of someone else's work, even with permission to license (undisclosed), that will be discovered in short order...with consequences.

    Make sure it is your own work and you should be fine.

    Also ensure they do not have built-in functions that violate Rule 5 here.

    Be aware that many of us generally avoid themes and plugins sold through the forum because of the dreadful reputation of some sellers. While there are exceptions, too many are hit and run products and things like plugins and themes need to be updated as WP grows, needs security holes fixed, etc.

    Of course folks still buy them but you can see that many of the threads turn into gripe fests due to lack of support and/or updates and/or broken (not tested properly) features. Naturally, gripe fests don't normally add positively to a seller's reputation.

    I'm not sure what your plans are for the future of your product but you may want to take that into consideration.

      I agree 110%. There are so many reputable places to buy quality themes and plugins these days that are made by people/companies that will give support and updates. A WSO or some gimmicky, long-winded, BS sales letter site with BONUS! after BONUS! after BONUS! is the last place I would look to buy anything WP related.

      But you can try. Afterall, the only reason why sales letter sites and the like still exist is because there is a sucker born ever second. Which is the same reason why telemarketing, junk mail and commercial spam still exist.

    As long as you're the one who made it, it's okay.

    You'll only have a problem if you copyright it. Copying one's work is really prohibited and illegal. You'll gonna have trouble in the future if you do it.
