What's an alternative for "Don't"?

I am not too crazy about saying "Don't". For example: "Don't skip this chapter"

What's a good alternative?

Thanks

There's no such thing as using too much "don't."

But you could try using "never" or "not."

Why not try to say why they should read, instead of why they should not, not read...

    For example:
-...If you want to know about [?], then the chapter is going to be an important one
-... then the next chapter will surprise you

"If you skip this chapter, you don't even have a chance of seeing the results you want..."

Change "seeing the results you want" to whatever it is your prospect desires:

    - If you skip this chapter, you don't even have a chance of improving your credit score

    - If you skip this chapter, you don't even have a chance of losing that excess fat

Depending on your niche and writing style, you can use the more smart-ass version of it:

"A thou shalt not skip this chapter"

If not, I think this could work well too:

Skipping this chapter? A big NO-NO!

You're not crazy about it, but does it work?Coz, in my world, it works wonders when it comes to telling people what not to do.

Not being flip, just pointing out that you not liking it isn't the right test.

Simple. You frame it in the positive.

Example: "This chapter is an absolute must-read!"

Strunk & White would have you flip it to the positive form:

"Skipping this chapter would be an enormous mistake!"

    HOWEVER...

If you are using words and phrases such as, "Don't" and "Do Not" in the context of SELLING, it may actually work in your favor.

For example, "Don't buy this eBook" is what's known as a "negative command" and could influence someone to do just the opposite.

I wrote about this in detail in a recent blog post if you're interested:
