Are you talking about selling how to make money type courses?

If so, then answer your own question - what makes you qualified to help someone else? What have you done? Have you actually made any money doing anything online?

If you took your own advice would you succeed? If not, why not? If so, then why not succeed first in another area (not how to make money) and prove you can do it?

We have too much of the blind leading the blind already. That is one of the factors in the huge failure rate, in my opinion. Of course, there are other reasons but that is a big one.

If you're talking about launching an internet marketing or make money online course, don't even try it yet.

What makes you "qualified" is actually having done it yourself.

My advice is to get into another market if you want to launch a course or start promoting affiliate products.

Once you can legitimately say that you're making money online with a model (like affiliate marketing), you can then think about making a course which teaches other people the same methods you use.

After all, launching your own course about how to make money online when you've never made any yourself is like the blind leading the blind... don't do it.

    Regards,
    Daniel

P.S. Mark Singletary, we had the same train of thought - "the blind leading the blind" is the same thing I said but I only saw your response after I posted my comment (you beat me to the punch lol).

You tell the truth: you don't have any success yet and you have absolutely no qualifications to create a course on a topic you know nothing about.

You avoid MMO niches and instead focus on something you do know about.

Do what most people on the forum do, you FAKE it until you MAKE IT.

Tristan Bull is well known for this. He created a course on how to make money online, which is how he actually made his first major chunk of money.

Its not ethical but ultimately its a method that was done many many times in the past.

However as the internet has grown so has peoples scepticism of such get rich quick schemes, so in reality such things don't work so well now.

If you want to create a successful business online then don't go around selling second hand untested knowledge, instead look at some of the top sites online and learn how they monetize their traffic.

I would start with somewhere like Flippa and view some of the sites there that are making good money. Its clear to see which are legitimate businesses and which are not.

I don't think you can and I don't think the question is a serious one. Over time you have asked many questions about traffic and ad networks and SEO and various programs...including starting a thread in January where you ask

For a network of 12 sites how many article do i need? The site are all in the same niche and they all link to my money site?
Now it seems there was no site to be asking about. So you were asking questions just to be asking questions? Why not dig in and build a site?

Are you planning on launching a course in an area that you actually know stuff about?

Whether you're self taught, or professionally trained... if you're going to teach something, it's a good idea to first actually know about what you're teaching. For example, you wouldn't start a course, "How to play piano in 14 days..." if you don't actually know how to play piano.

Sticking with the Learn to Play Piano example. If you'd want to show what makes you qualified to teach piano, but you're self taught and not a professional piano player (and lack the, "I've done X, Y and Z)... then you'd show it be demonstrating your knowledge and skill. In this example, show yourself playing piano. Start a blog where you share piano playing tips etc.

Yet you want to teach people all about SEO which is generally considered "free" traffic methods?

You are wanting to teach something you say yourself doesnt work but you don't have money to pay for FB ads so how are you going to market it so you can make money to buy ads?

This is one reason fakers get caught so often: they don't even know when they are aren't making sense-no offense intended.

Honestly alot of people won't even ask you those "credibility" questions. Just sell it and make it sound good. You're having the unnecessary problem of writer's block - and you haven't even written anything. In fact, you haven't even started anything yet. So why are you holding yourself back?

And guess what. You ARE good at something. You move your bowels every so often per month right? Write an ebook about how to not strain or have painful bowel movements. And how to regulate your bowel movements.

  • I think it is best to build something which you are familiar of, or atleast pay someone who knows about IM and is capable of building content based on that knowledge.

Sharing tips on the internet on that topic needs expertise, or if not, look for someone (a writer) who is knowledgeable about the niche. Goodluck!

If you have never done SEO on your own sites or anyone else's - how are you going to "make a course about SEO"? You can do it, though I doubt you can sell it. Isn't that a waste of your time? If you had started a site 2 years ago - you could BE an expert by now and have something to sell.

You are jumping around on the surface of many IM methods - asking questions and even answering though you don't know the answers. Why not dig in and learn the basics and get a site/blog going? It will help YOU in the end.

Yep, there is NO bypassing it. That's why Life and having Success within it takes time and commitment.

And this is a prime example why people fail so often. They cannot envision the long term and realize that people have to pay their dues.

Being a attorney or doctor takes so much time to build up a name and reputation

It's no different in IM. But somehow people have been fooled to think otherwise

    people have been fooled
People fool themselves by believing only those who tell them what they want to hear. "Easy, fast money with no site or knowledge" sounds so much better than "you must research/plan/work - invest time/money".

Truth is - online and in real life - if you are easily led, there will always be someone willing to mislead you. But in the end - whose fault is that?

What about doing SEO for a couple of websites for free to get the experience you are lacking under your belt. Once you are doing a good job I am sure you will get recommendations and people want to pay for your work and then you have something to teach too. Best Regards, Christina

Once you got up a blog, find what you did or doing great at and write a guide to help others, but teach other things you haven't done. It will sound different therefore noone will read. Make a guide on something you good at.

    Szaby,

What's your internet presence like? If I was to do a search for your name because I was considering buying your latest high ticket course what would I find?

I would suggest forgetting about course building for a little while.

Start a blog. Build a list. Get your name all over Google page 1 for your name (name popularity dependent of course!) but you see my point, you need to build a foundation first.

    Cheers
    Jon

If you've never had a site don't worry about having a course yet. There are so much things you got to nail down first. I recommend checking out Wordpress and using that for your website. Also, look up training from Frank Kern, Ryan Deiss, and Eben Pagan to help you ou with your marketing.
