I don't know if it's a good long-term strategy to create products that are based on interests that are trending.

However, there are a few rare circumstances where new interests you can monetize indefinitely do pop up suddenly...

For example, take the Periscope app - Periscope has quickly become a popular platform for video marketers to generate traffic and build a following.

If Periscope doesn't fizzle out (which seems unlikely as far as we can tell), an information product which teaches how to drive traffic through the site has good potential for building a long-term business.

    Regards,
    Daniel

Don't get me wrong here, but...

Why on earth would I tell you "the best" product to create instead of just selling it myself?

Anyhow, health and weight loss seems like a never ending story, so that's one alternative. Mix it up with a workout course, workout videos & food recipes etc.. And create a 2 in 1 product.

Lmao. I'm literally laughing and crying of laughter at the same time.

So no disrespect to the OP. But your comment was somewhat what I was thinking while just looking at the thread title.

      Wtf. Lol.

      It's somewhat like asking.

What size is your wife's breast. And do you think that I can milk them also. Lol

      Okay. I'm just kidding OP.

But new products of the future are probably heavily guarded here. And most folks don't want to let that cat out of the bag. Even if you pay them.

One great way to figure out what to sell is to watch TV and listen to the radio to see what types of pie-in-the-sky products are currently being pushed.

As others have said, weight loss products are always in season but more so right after Christmas and right before Summer.

Right now it's tax season so you hear a lot of gimmicks about getting the IRS off your back (if you owe 10K or more).

Been hearing a lot of gimmicky ads about pet vitamins on the radio lately.

It's all about finding a niche that has a large customer base of desperate and gullible buyers, and telling them you have a "easy" solution or a "secret".

When watching TV for ideas, always check the sports channels and watch prime time shows. This is where most of the gullible and desperate are tuned into so that is where you will find the most "useful" ads.

The WSO section is a good place to get ideas, too (but don't buy anything...lol...you might get hosed).

      Really?

I thought it was all about finding solutions, trying to help people, and providing real value...

Many of the most popular niches aren't about solving problems. Instead, they offer some type of entertainment or an escape from problems. There's many hobbies, collectables and activities that are profitable niches. Music is the most popular "niche" on Youtube, not curing someone's acne.

I made a point about many people thinking that the only viable niches are ones that solve problems. No need to knit pick and play word games. If you missed my point, let me know and I'll explain it further.

Not to mention, to be successful, one doesn't need to sell to "gullible" buyers. It's also OK to sell things to well educated buyers too.

Nope. missed nothing - I got it fine the first time and I got the person you were responding the first time better as well - nothing to do with word games or knit picking.

No one said they have to. If you read the post and see where comments were coming from you will see it came from someone else claiming

              pretty simple.

Yeah, just not a very good perspective to look at things. I would suggest most newbies not approach it like this.

Long term it will be your downfall. Just using the word "gullible" is very negative. Sorry, maybe it sounds cheesy but frankly I refuse to look at potential customers in that light.

It really depends. If you think that summer is coming and people are still chasing the dream: the perfect beach body, you could try to sell a lose weight program or a fitness one.
The problem with this niche - the weight loss one, is that it`s been so crowded over the last years that you have almost 0 chances to make a revenue without an exaggerated large marketing budget.

If you think hobbies, in my country, we just got rid of snow, so I would invest in a mountain biking niche website or anything related to outdoors sports.

Why would you not be teaching your "students" how to fish? Then let them find things on their own and bring back their ideas to you for guidance.

How would YOU get good product ideas - other than asking us to give them to you?

There is a way to do this btw. Several actually...

You have paying students and you want us to be your consultants. I would place a classified ad here at the forum and if your willing to pay enough I am sure there are coaches willing to coach a coach

A bar of iron cost $5. Made into horseshoes, it's worth $12. Made into needles, it's worth $3500. Made into balance springs for watches, it's worth $300,000. Your value is determined by what you are able to make of yourself
