How to Monetize this List

Hello all, I have a question which i'm hoping has not been asked before. Recently I ran a contest giveaway for a set of basic jump ropes. The product didn't go anywhere, but the results I got from the contest blew me away.

800 email signups, and 500 facebook likes. All from a free giveaway of a few jump ropes! So it got me thinking.. What if I created a monthly/ weekly email newsletter type thing for contest giveaways.

There would be basic and premium memberships. For the basic, I would include a few contests from around the web which I thought were valuable. For premium, it would be something super valuable.. like an iPad. It would cost like $1 a month, and there would be an option to buy more entries to the contest. I would be banking on there being more subscribers than the cost of the item basically.

My question is, do you think this is a viable idea, and what ways would you monetize the list? I'm assuming advertising wouldn't really work because the quality of the list wouldn't be very good. Mostly people who want free stuff. Thanks in advance for your help!

    Since your list is made up of people who are interested in free stuff, maybe you could find Pay-Per-Lead offers that would work. They get something free for performing some sort of action like signing up or completing a survey... and you get paid for each person that does that action.

    First off, You would have some legal issues charging for a contest. I doubt people would trust something like that. Also, people can spend a couple buck on a lotto ticket for a chance to win millions I doubt they are spending a buck or two for a chance to win an ipad.
