The Essentials for a Website

I have set up a few Wordpress sites for affiliate marketing.

I have kind of a standard set of plugins, for backing up, CSS changes, contact form, etc.

I am wondering what others would help. I suspect analytics/SEO would be one of those.

So, I got Google Analytics by Yoast. I'm having an issue with it, any recommendations for tracking and seeing who's visited my sites?

You'd also want google webmatster tools.

What's wrong with Google analytics for tracking?

it's new to me. I've never used it.

I have several sites. I imagine I just need one account for all sites I manage, and want to have analytics on?

Yeah, make sure to have a very overt, identifiable Optin Form on that Site. I would put that as being essential. Very much so

Watch out with how many plugins you have as it can really drag down your site speed. Yoast in my opinion is a big bloated program but for someone starting out it helps when writing posts but other features are complicated for newbies so they can sell you the training. Just my two cents......
