Strange unorthodox traffic generation methods

Let's discuss them.
My favorite method involves creating viral entertaining quizzes on playbuzz and embedding them on my websites, then driving traffic to them from forums and social networks.
Guess who already uses this method?

Not really seen this way of traffic,

have no idea as ive not seen this
    that who uses them,

would love to know that what sort
of results or traffic you get with this
    method...

when you do get them to your website
then how do you play your strategy...

There is one example of using it in action:
      What
According to buzzsumo stats they got 225k shares and about 900 comments and what they did they only embedded a quiz from playbuzz.
Some of their pages generated millions of shares.
So, yes, this method works, but you still need traffic.
And embedding a quiz on your pages is just one half of the method.
The other half is posting your links on forums and social networks, related to your niche.
People love quizzes and quizzes don't look spammy and also very viral and shareable.
Quizzes are good for virality, they work like traffic accelerators.

There is nothing strange about quizzes, they have been used for years. What you are talking about is not a traffic method. In fact, you actually need traffic for this to work. And why would you want to waste your traffic on a quiz?

I would think that reversing this strategy would be better. Perhaps promoting the quiz on social media and then linking to your site for the answers.

agmccall, you are right! You still need traffic and you get it from forums and social networks.
And there is nothing new with quizzes, but they still work.

My version of quiz reversing is making it like a game: make them try to reverse a quiz and find a way to get a particular result. Another way of using quizzes.

      Sorry, what do you mean?
This method is not something new, it was mentioned in a few places.

This question: "Guess who already uses this method?" rubbed me in such a way as to make me produce that reply.
