Learning a skill or affiliate marketing? which is better?

Should i learn a new skill in graphic design (because i like that field) or go through affiliate marketing (email marketing for example) ?

    OK, first off, email marketing is not a skill exclusive to affiliate marketing.

    There are even some freelancers (such as graphic designers) who use email marketing to help sell their services.

    I think your question of whether you should learn a new skill in graphic design or learn something else like affiliate marketing (which in itself requires some skills) is best answered by asking what can you see yourself doing for the long-term.

    I can't make any decision for you but I'll say this...

    If I were in your shoes, I'd go with improving my graphic design skills since I actually like it.

    Not to mention, it is possible to make a decent living from graphic design once you develop a solid portfolio and reputation.

    I agree with what Daniel said above.

    It is very important to do something you enjoy and have an interest in. While Affiliate Marketing could be a successful venture for you, I believe that having a strong skill set will be better to set you up for the long term.

    It can be quite easy at times to get Graphic Design clients through Direct Marketing (emails, brochures, flyers, cold calling, face to face) and Online Marketing (SEO on website, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, etc) and it may also be a more profitable and stable income for you.

    i think what skill you best is the best way to success, don't give up and learn more and more, after that you can find someone to create a group and mix both graphic design and affiliate maketing.

    How about learning how to learn a new skill then you can learn anything! There is a skill to Internet marketing whether its your own products or somebody elses. You can learn graphic design and you can do affiliate marketing in that niche and build yourself a list of both prospects and buyers. Then you can market your new skill as a graphic designer to you email list that you have been building trust with. So now instead of making say $10 or $30 you can make say $500 on the back end from the same subscriber. You have a customer for life

    I was also in doubt selecting fields while starting my freelancing career . and choose marketing
    Now after two years of working in learning I've got small knowledge in all the field ( Html , php , graphics design and wordpress CMS ) .

    Now I think I'm ready to jump in marketing .

    I recommend you to get overall skill in relevant topics before start your marketing career .

    If you are learning affiliate marketing, you're learning a skill.

    There's no difference in affiliate marketing vs offering any other kind of product or service. The marketing is the same. The only difference is the product. So in a sense, forget the *skill*.

    Master the marketing component of it.

    Well if you think learning Affiliate Marketing is not a skill in itself, then I don't know what your definition for skill is.

    In my opinion learning (or should I say mastering) email marketing and affiliate marketing takes a little longer but definitely allows you to have more freedom. Both time and financial.

    On the other hand, graphic design may be in demand and since you like it yourself (assuming you have some knowledge about it) you can pretty much get started today and offer your services, but you'll find it hard to automate your business.

    So that means that in order to make money, you'll have to babysit your business everyday.

    Unless you use the power of service arbitrage and position yourself as being the middle man.

    But that's a whole nother topic.

    So my vote is for Affiliate/Email marketing.

    As that allows you to have a business you can run on 90% autopilot and even make residual income.
