extra protection other than optimizepress?

Hello Everyone,

I am setting up the membership site for my new video and audio product. I am also using the optimizepress member plugin to protect the content and the sites. However I have heard from quite a few people that on top of optimizepress they also use Amazon S3. I have read about it and I don't quite understand as this seems to be a cloud service.

is it better to store the videos, audios etc on this cloud or? and does it up the security compared to just having it on my own site?

Any help is appreciated.

    If you put them on S3 then you don't have to worry about too much traffic slowing downloads, and it might be cheaper than putting them on a web server that is meant for serving websites. I would think it's most important for large files like video. I'm interested to hear other's opinions.
