is big social a advertisiers monopoly?

Im just saying. I look at it this way.. if i try to advertise on the internet it seems that there may only be 2 ain ways to get eyeballs that matter.. by pay per click on facebook, google adsense and twitter.

Recently i have been thinking about email list rentals but im new to this all and i would like to know (1) how it works (2) where and how can i rent lists and (3)if anyone out there has any tips , warnings, suggestions, links etc an=bout list rentals as well as how to promote online in general if you are bootstrapping your venture. any tips? thoughts?

And if anyone else agrees or disagrees on my intro comment on the monopolization of marketing on the internet.

I started to use google adsense and facebook only to have my tiny budget eaten alive far before my 30 days. The main issue is this , my product is free membership to completeajob which is a freelance online and business networking site so theres no return on my investment initially because there no cost for the members. One day with enough users and the optional feed services provided i will make money but thats not my main concern right now because i know if its a needed service the money will come down the road. Im a newbie and hae been reading some of the posts so please be easy on me lol

    A small clue:

Your most fundamental problem is not advertising impact.

Your most fundamental problem is figuring out an economic model for your business that works for both short and long term. Only then does the issue of advertising become relevant.

    Good luck with your venture.

    So help me understand -

You are only looking to build traffic at this point, not make money?

Oookay, that's a strange strategy but the basics still remain.

You must have an excellent reason for for peeps to click through to what must be an excellent landing page, or poof! Nothing will happen and your money goes up in smoke.

    Reasons people click through
    1. Good graphics accompanied by
    2. Compelling ad copy and
    3. A good free offer (incentive if they fill out the form or whatever) that meets their desires

Once they hit the landing page of wherever you are sending them, they must feel comfortable, invigorated, excited, overall very pleased that they landed there, and have the need to share the experience. Otherwise, poof! Bounce and unsubscribe from your list.

Next you need follow up - an email series that thanks them for clicking through, joining, whatever they did, and that keeps hitting their inboxes with reasons to go back to the place, or they will forget about it in short order.

Give it a try - II think you will be pleased with the results. Search, study, apply.

You can learn more at the following sites:

Anik Singal << one of the kings of ad copy Lurn.com
Neville Medhora is one of my personal favorites, and also a member of copywriting royalty. NevBlog - Neville's digital surrogate brain

If the above is not what you are looking for, please be more concise in explaining your business plan so we can give you better answers.

how will you show ads to the people who r using ad blockers ?
how would you get the attention of people who avoid ads ?
You don't. Estimates (from QuORA) are that less than 10% of ad impressions are blocked by blockers. Other sites estimate almost 200 million internet users are employing some sort of ad blocker.

BUT - there are over 3 BILLION people on the internet now. Stop worrying about the ones you can't reach - and focus on the rest of them.

January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

If you create a fanpage on FB for your business and you post on it every day and you create value for it you will find lots of customers for free. There is no need to pay for advertising unless you are very impatient, but then you still have to learn how to create very appealing ads regarding images and ad copy. You need to know who you want to market to as well and do your keyword research. In summary, there are no shortcuts in Internet Marketing. Whatever way you choose you have to invest a lot of time and/or money. Christina

This is not an issue with PPC. People obviously need to see your ad to click on it.

Those of you who think that you can get eye balls for your ads using famous platforms are fools in my opinion.
So, nobody gets traffic from Adwords, Bing or FB PPC?

I have visitors from Bing on my sites right now, literally.
