Do you own a copy of the clickbank product you promote?

I have a really hard time promoting something that I don't even know is worth the salt.I see a lot of marketer's promoting products from clickbank, Commission junction etc when they haven't even bought a copy themselves and that means they don't even know if the product is any good.

What are your thoughts on this?

    I get better results if I purchase a product before promoting to my list. I feel it makes my pre-sell copy much stronger especially if I am passionate about the product.

    On the hand, I have older content sites (i.e. treadmills, contact lenses, tanning beds, etc.) where there is no way I would purchase those products before promoting. I have to rely on the merchants reputation in terms of fulfillment and customer service. If I get feedback from my site visitors that they had a bad experience I usually will drop the merchant and find another that is more customer focused.

      If you want to promote it to your own list, it's really recommend to purchase it, because if you promise something that the product doesn't even offer, you can easily lose your credibility. So it's always good to see, if your customers will be satisfied or not.
