Alternative method to using the "Search" feature in this forum

As you know, members are encouraged to use the Search feature before posting their questions to the forum....however sometimes it's hard to find what you're looking for and lately, I'm finding that I'm getting better results doing a specific Google search.

Once you're on Google, simply type in what you are searching for followed by "site:warriorforum.com" (No quotations marks):

best traffic sources site:warriorforum.com

This of course will return many results - all from the Warrior Forum. If you wanted to display the most recent information, simply add "2016" to your search query:

best traffic sources 2016 site:warriorforum.com

As I mentioned earlier, all your results will be from the Warrior Forum in general (all forums and sub-forums). You can get specific by adding the subdomain to the search query...in this example, I am looking for information on "traffic sources" specifically in the WSO section:

best traffic sources site:warriorforum.com/warrior-special-offers/

This has been working really well for me and I find the search results using this method can sometimes be more relevant than using the "Search" feature within the Warrior Forum.

Cheers
Chantal

Great share! It inspired me to write a simple PHP script, which basically automates your tip. The script/code can be found in the following WF thread:

[FREE] Google Warrior Forum search script - Search Warrior Forum like a Pro!

Simply upload the script to your own server and browse to its URL.

That is awesome. However, it might be a bit too tech savvy for some people. Perhaps someone can come up with a Chrome browser extension?

Thanks! I agree with you on the "too tech savvy for some" part... I'm willing to host the script on one of my own domains. The problem is that I'm not sure whether I'd be allowed to drop the URL on WF... mods might consider it spam.

I looked for some free and neutral hosting solutions, but couldn't find any.

I'll contact WF support and talk to them about it, maybe we can work something out that doesn't require people to host the script themselves.

Also, I'll see if I can add OpenSearch functionality to the script. That should enable people to easily add the script as a search engine to their browser's search feature.
