Every video that's "public" can be included in playlists. Playlists can and do rank in YT search, as well as are listed in the related videos on view pages in the right column.


Create a video or two of your own that can introduce the next videos, and/or have a marketing call to action on them, such as "click here for more info". Add these videos in strategic places in the playlist.


Create playlists for the highest ranking videos for a keyword phrase, from related videos on popular video view pages and from popular/trending videos to leverage their popularity.

Create playlists to borrow "authority". For example, if you have a video showing your cheeseburger recipe, also include cheeseburger or other grilling recipes videos in your playlist from people like:
Rachel Ray
Gordon Ramsey
Emeril
Bobby Flay

Not only can you get traffic to your playlist by exploiting the popularity of these celebrity chefs, but be being "next" to them, you are "positioning" yourself as a peer of their's in the minds of the viewers of the playlist.

If I had a music video, I'd add it to a playlist including the videos of the biggest names for that genre of music.

Note that the weakness of playlists is that people typically want to watch more than one video and probably aren't as inclined to interact with the video or click a link as they would be for a single video.

However, they are so easy to make that you can make up for this with quantity. And considering that every public video can be added to a playlist, according to YT's terms, there's really no reason to steal videos. It takes a real kleptomaniac to still want to steal YT videos.
