Real talk.... the "how to build a birdhouse" niche. That's seriously a real passion for some people.

I always enjoyed the thought of making my own self-help, mindset ebook, where I would into great detail about the topics of staying motivated, mentally strong, using your energy wisely, and overall creating a better life for yourself by focusing on the most important priorities.

It interests me because I used to have a very poor mindset, work ethic, and always got off-task, which eventually made me fell unaccomplished and unfulfilled. So now that I no longer struggle with this mindset issue, I feel I can literally write an entire ebook about it, and how to switch your perspective.

If there was any niche outside of IM that most people could get into, it's my opinion that that niche would be self-help. I only think because I believe everyone has something they can offer that can help others, whether it be conventional or not. Self-Help is kind of a generic umbrella term anything puts the power of change into the consumers hands.

Any niche you have a blast working, cover it with your information product. Address a need in that niche. But make sure you have fun working it. Because fun juice/energy carries you thru the ups and downs.

I dig blogging. I dig traveling. Writing loads of eBooks on blogging and traveling feels fun to me, so I churn 'em out and connect with folks who dig what I offer.

Ditto with my blogging course. Had fun creating it. Detached largely from selling it. That energy flows thru much of what I do.

The chief problem with trends-based product is this: folks use a trend to dictate what they're doing, versus a passionate energy. Make money online and personal development stuff will be popular and in demand until the cows come home, but if you lack that powerful and playful driver, you'll get 1/10,000th of the results of the guy or gal who genuinely loves what they do.

This seems confusing at first because many IMers focus heavily on an outside-in approach but when you create products based on an inside-out feeling, you make a freaking beeline for the ideas, people and circumstances to help you create the product, and also, for the folks who'd buy it and endorse it.

Been my experience at least.

I admire your interest in wanting to go beyond the scammy "make money online" niche. Am I saying making money online is "scammy"? No. I make a lot of money online with niche websites.

However! Yes, many people look at making money online as "scammy" because there really are A LOT of scams out there. In all honesty, if you find something you can turn into an info/instructive ebook along with a course/guide video series or email series, you can make A LOT of money, and not be looked at as scammy at all!

The glory of this, is you can literally do anything with this. I'm not going to tell you an exact specific niche to work in. Why?

1. People will read this and flood into that niche/idea and create an instant influx of competition for you,
2. It may not be anything your interested in at all!

I'll give you an example... I have a friend who enjoys hiking. He was also asking me to make more money on the side of his job, so that he could pay his bills, and put his paychecks away. He's not about being rich, per say, but he wanted to be more financially free to make choices.

I taught him how to set up a blog website, and then write a book about hiking. He first thought I was joking... But I was serious. I told him not to just "write about hiking", but "The Benefits Of Hiking"! I got him to see the concept of something people WANT! No one wants to read about the way he hikes, or even where he hikes. BUT, people love finding enjoyable ways to adventure, as well as stay healthy, and feel freedom of spirit!

So, I helped him write an eBook about the benefits of hiking, as well as a newsletter that talks about useful things to take hiking, survival techniques, ways to use hiking to become healthier, vitamins, filtration water bottles, etc.

Now, he has a full blown website that not only talks about what he loves doing, but as he writes, he can include affiliate products, as well as HIS OWN info products, and he makes 4-Figures a month now! It took him about 6 months to do all of this and get his brand started, but he is making literally a full-time income just writing about what he likes and sharing helpful and useful tips with his followers.

Bare in mind, he does NOT have a HUGE following of thousands upon thousands of people. However, the few that he have are very appreciative of what he does for them, and they buy over and over from his website, because they trust him and have a solid relationship!

The point of writing this is to hopefully point to you that, think outside the box. Look at what people enjoy/need, and think of a way you can throw your own spin on it, gain knowledge on what you need to do, create a strategy on how to market and promote your product, and then just DO IT!

Too many people start an amazing idea and quit because they think people won't like it, or it's too much work. Just go to Google, literally type in "things people love", and you'll find THOUSANDS of ideas! Just grab one, create a helpful/instructive product, add as much value to it as you possibly can, and throw it out there!

There's a thing that one of my mentors taught me... "When you create something, it's special to you, regardless of what people think. When you package it into a product and put it up for sale, it doesn't matter what happens! Either people buy it, or they don't. However, you proved to yourself you can create something! Keep creating until it sells, rinse and repeat! The worst that could happen is you make 1 or 2 sales. This isn't a failure... This is your next step to success!"

I would suggest tackling a niche in which you have expertise so when you create your information product you will be able to give good, sound, authoritative advice. People buy info products in every niche imaginable.

Simply inventory your own experience first. What are you really good at? Do you have past education, work experience, training, a hobby, or other experience that is beyond what the average person has?

When you come up with something, do some market research online to validate that others are looking for information in that same niche. Pay attention to what specific things they want to know or learn.

In summary, pick something you are good at that other people online are asking to learn. I believe everyone has authority and experience in something that you could write about and sell online.

If there is one niche I like to work on right now, it will be communications.

At first glance, it might seem easy to most people.

Because they think communications is about talking and listening to people.

Actually it is much more than that.

It is about putting yourself in that shoes, find out their needs and wants before recommending what is best for him or her.

Now that is something NOT everyone can do.

But even when it comes to having a need or want, some people cannot express themselves properly for various reasons.

Besides doing this, your voice tone, speed and volume are just as important because people tend to judge each other on those factors besides just words.

Not to mention body language as well.

As being said in one thread jump into niche you like, it will be more easier for you to succeed.

Whatever you choose it should be something that seriously interests you IMHO!

It would take some outsourcing and work but I think a really high quality Spanish Speaking product.

More and more immigrants particular from Mexico and South America are coming over here and the language of Spanish is taking over.

If there is traffic, there is potential. Choose something you know something about.

The Health field is one the most popular - and probably always will be. Information on health problems however is saturated across the internet so you probably would need to find an angle to work with. But yes, it's not recommended to make outrageous claims, like what you said "cure blindness overnight".

Perhaps you can try an info product like "10 ways to heal eczema that you most likely have never heard of". Then search the internet and make sure it's not 10 ways people can figure out through a simple Google search.

Relationship is another topic that has staying power. Divorces, marriages, dating, etc. are topics that most people are always curious about, and because these are emotional topics, buyers will likely buy a product about them.

I'm highly interested in creating products for hobbyist like a model train, toy cards and fishing. It's best when you start with products that you can relate on to share more info about them.

I've always been successful when I start with an area that intrigues me, sometimes I know or am involved in the market,other times not.

From there, I follow a very specific process to dig into the market, learn the competition, identify (or validate) opportunities, and then run a few tests with some early content and ads - typically this leads me to a decision point and out comes a product.

Using this approach I've always come out with a product that sells, some have larger markets than others, but all are quite profitable.

I would build a PPL (pay per lead) offer. PPL is simply lead generation.

There is no actual product that you are creating, you are simply selling the information that is generated from a page/form that you create.

In order to sell the leads, you have to get buyers. I'm sure that the idea of getting buyer sounds difficult. But the reality is that so many businesses rely heavily on buying leads, in order to generate sales...buying leads is the lifeblood of their business and much easier than you think.

What I have found works best is financial services that you can get around $20 per lead or higher. The key demographic you want to go after are those that are 35-70 years old and if you can go deeper and get those that are married and/or homeowners you can cross promote many other PPL offers.

if your not capable of generating cost effective traffic, then you will need to get affiliates to promote your offer. To do this you need to optimize your page / form so that is converts well. Also, much of the traffic that exists is mobile these days, so you want to optimize for it as well!

FOr thoise that are not aware, there are big affiliates capable of producing $10K-$100K+ in commissions per month and all they care about is how well it converts...so optimizing is key!!!

In addition to being able to get a percentage of each lead generates, you get to monetize all the thank you page traffic and you get a copy of all the leads generated, which you can monetize and from both, you get to keep 100% of the profits.

Once you create one offer, then create another and another, etc... It's a huge huge business and I would tak e it over IM/MMO any day of the week!!!

In case you think I need to put the crack pipe down and I'm out of my mind and need some validation. Go sign up to some CPA networks and find out what their highest converting PPL offers are and try and find out what type of numbers it does and you'll find out that I'm not wearing a straight jacket and in a padded room somewhere.

These days, people want more money, more sex, more money, look better physically, have better relationships, more sex, LOL.

I think you are starting to get the picture.... people always want to be more healthier, wealthier, and wise.

so again, if you stick to niches such as : DIETING, HEALTH, FITNESS, RELATIONSHIP, BREAKUPS, STOCK MARKET, FOREX, and thing such as this, even in 20 years and 100 years from now you cannot lose.
