You Are Your Worst Enemy... Fix Yourself Starting Today!
I just wanted to write a quick post about motivation. I see so many people on here giving up and quitting so easily and I can't understand why.
So I'm going to explain to you why so many people fail. First off, I'm a firm believer that you have to continue to learn in order to be successful in IM. However, if you spend your entire time learning, you'll get absolutely zero work finished... this is where most people fail.
I know you've seen posts like this before, but I hope you take the advice I'm about to give you and apply it.
If you are complete newbie to the Internet marketing community, learning is extremely important. Unfortunately, for every 10 hours of learning you take part in, you only do about 1 hour of work. Your learning to work ratio of "10:1" will never allow you to be successful in any business.
So here's my tip... If you have the problem listed above, I want you to focus on getting your learning to work ratio down to "1:1". For every 1 hour of learning you complete (this includes reading ebooks and even spending time on the warrior forum), you must complete a minimum of 1 hour of taking action (whether its creating a PPC campaign, building a website/squeeze page, or creating content).
"1:1" is a great number to achieve for someone new, but for a more experienced marketer, you should aim for a learning to work ratio of "1:4" to "1:8", or even higher. I try to keep track of this every day to make sure that I am completing what I need to do to make my time efficient. Currently my ratio is at "1:11".
So... how do you keep track of all of this?
Easy... if you have Microsoft Vista, you can get a plugin for your sidebar that will allow you to clock in and clock out certain tasks that you complete during the day. It will provide you with a report on how much time you spent doing your specific tasks.
You can get this plugin from Microsoft here:
Windows Live Gallery
If you do not have Vista, all you need is a simple stopwatch. Every time you start a new task... start that stopwatch. When you switch to a new task, write down how long you spent doing the previous task. Do this everyday to keep track of your efficiency.
You'll be extremely surprised how much work you actually get done when you are aware of your inefficiency problem. I highly recommend you start keeping track of your work habits so that you can continue to grow your business!
Best of luck!
