Hi friends,

As an affiliate or vendor, we need to have much traffic to our products links.

1. social media: facebook, instagram, twitter,..
2. blogging: blogspot, wordpress,..

Which method is the best way for our online business?

hope to receive more ideas from all,

thanks,

Harley

    Hi Harleypamer,

It's very hard to say without knowing your niche or business model however in my experience selling digital products in a non-IM niche through a membership site I've found them to be on par with each other.

Having said that if blog writing/posting is something you enjoy then there might be greater opportunity for taking guest posts to your blog or reciprocating and providing guest posts to blogs that are bigger than yours to draw in an already targeted and information hungry audience.

Oh, and for the record, I've personally found that posting quality value packed videos to YouTube to be by far and away the best way to get the most paying customers - just something else to consider that wasn't on your list.

could you make clear what you made with youtube?

affiliate link inside video or post on relevant video?

    Combine both for more power!

Personally I just use Youtube and nothing else. I found video is more engaging to grab traffic into my aff-link.

      hi Superowid,

ohh, that idea is so great. I also used Youtube to promote affiliate link. however my link sometimes was not seen by viewers.

Have you ever met this case?

Hey Harley, the "best" traffic source is highly dependent on several factors including (but not limited to) the specific offer, the niche/market being targeted, and even the follow-up process you have.

A quick example of that last factor I mentioned; solo ads will not likely be a profitable source of traffic if you don't follow up with your leads aggressively as they're being pitched multiple offers by your competition (more so than any other traffic source).

As to whether social media or blogging are good ways to build an audience, there are people who have built successful businesses with both of those options.

One thing I want to point out to you, please do NOT use a free BlogSpot or WordPress.com blog...

Get yourself a domain name and have your own self-hosted site built using WordPress.org

Free sites can be taken away from you at any moment if the Terms of Service change.

    Regards,
    Daniel

I would suggest you: Go to your blog and blog about it. Next go to your social media and briefly talk about it and say see my blog post here... and give the link. Using the two together is a great idea. However, you have control over your blog, so blog first and social media to promote the blog.

Well, I consider "blogging" to be using a blog, like a social media account where you talk mostly about yourself and your interests.

This is basically worthless in my opinion.

If you use a blog to create a niche site, that's different.

    Hi Harleypamer,

For my YouTube (YT) videos I'd do the following:
    • Create a video that taught something of value that supported or related to the digital product(s) I was selling;
    • At the end of the video I would reference my free gift (to get people on my mailing list) or my paid product - then outright tell people to click the link in the information below the video;
    • I'd also have the links shown in the video when I was mentioning them (but they weren't affiliate links);

I'm not sure posting affiliate links in the video would be worthwhile unless they were cloaked into something more visually appealing and obviously not an affiliate link, if it were me I'd just put affiliate links in the information section and make a point of telling people to click on them in the video.

Also I found that if I was personally in the videos they'd tend to get a better response.
    Hope that helps!

Hi, all traffic sources can be good depending on your marketing needs.

Make sure you're sending traffic to build your list of potential customers. Once on your list you can email them great content and your affiliate/ vender links.

You can send customers to your offers on your thank you page as well.

direct linking to an affiliate offer before getting them on your list is't good because they will be gone forever.. and you will lose a lot of sales..

you can pick a traffic source and find successful people using it.. so test all of them and see what works best for your brand..

the benefit to trying many forms of marketing is your brand will start to be everywhere..

Social media & Blogging both are helpful for traffic.

But which is most useful for you, it depends on your business model. Which industry do you target? For example, if you are run an eCommerce business then social media play a virtual role for your business.

I highly recommended you to do both blogging & social media for traffic. because blogging is the first platform & social media is the 2nd platform for any types business.

    Hi there!

Personally, I'd rather choose SMM (especially Facebook) over blogging because you can reach to thousands of people around your niche.

Consider paid FB ad, it's a great way to increase traffic.

Also, try YouTube and Instagram, both are good channels to spread out the word to your audience. If your niche is female-dominated, Pinterest is a good site to your luck.

Well, all these depend on the kind of audience you're searching for. Where i live, YouTube isn't such a big thing, but rather the social media such as facebook, twitter and instagram have a huge mass of traffic while blogging follows suit. But anyways, the social media has more power. A combination of social media and blogging could give you more power. You should never underestimate the power of these media.

Hi again Harleypamer - well getting views on your videos, setting them up correctly, all of that good stuff, there's definitely a science to it and in fact people have made some very comprehensive premium courses on just this.

It's far too much for me to explain it all here however I have made a short video series on this which I normally give to my paying clients as a freebie (not internet marketing clients, they're from another business) however I'm more than happy to give you access to this if you can PM me here on Warrior Forum with your email address and a username you'd like to use.

I will combine both of them to promote my products. It really depends on what is your purpose and objective. I notice a few social media influencers will eventually create their own blogging site. I believe if you got your own site, you are flexible to place your stuff. Social media might have some rules to follow. So, my point is, social media is a channel to broadcast your blogging site. Hope it make sense to you.

    Why not use anything available.

I would use any and every method I could to drive a much traffic to my site as possible.

However, with that said, do not spread your self too thin--unless you are going to pay someone to do some of this for you.

I would start with a blog and the basics like facebook, twitter, and making youtube videos and then as you get more comfortable you can do more

    Hope this helps

I would use all the tools provided first, find out which one works best for you, keep what is useful and throw away what does not work. Facebook may work for one business effectively but not for another, blogging may work for a business but not for another, also people focus on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook and forget about all the other social media platforms that are useful as well as blogging sites which is useful to research on and can be great for your business.

I use both, are all. I think the more ways I can attract buyers to my site the better. When I post on my blog I share it on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, reddit, and Pinterest via IFTTT. If I post a Youtube video I share it on all those sites and usually share it as part of a blog post as well. I have two blogs, one is wordpress and the other is blogger. My artist likes blogger better so I like that one better. I can't figure out WP themes for the life of me, but I like using WP plugins for non-blog stuff. Hope it helps

    Hey buddy,

I`m finding right now that social media is trumping (winning) any other content marketing strategies for me right now.

Now having said that, the key is encouraging conversations and building relationships on both methods, blogging, social media etc...

I`ve been in this industry now for a long time, thankfully due to hard work become quite successful and I can tell you with certainty, although we depend and do need automation...

The power of real manual conversations will always win tenfold.

So I think the point I`m making is for me, they are both super powerful, all super powerful, but much more powerful with encouraging comments and interactions.

Get that conversation flowing from your content
