Have You Ever Worked Through Something You Hated And It Paid Off?

I bought an amazon website with about ~20 keywords back in October 2015. I pretty much ignored the poor thing until December. It's in the computer & peripheral niche. I thought since I knew a little about it and my partner at the time was pretty tech-y it wouldn't be too bad to get into... but I hate it. I am so bored of it.

I've been writing articles more frequently starting in April. I'm trying to get at least 5 in each category, then I'm gonna try to sell the site. It's only getting about 30 uniques a month at this point, but I figure all the unique content will still be valuable enough in the hands of the right person.

What I really want to do is blog in the weight loss niche, but I can't split my attention between both at once. I just forced out two articles today, then did a bunch of technical tweaking. Man I feel exhausted! Just can't wait to get this thing off my hands.

Anyway, have any of you out there worked through something you freaking hated (IM related) that ended up paying off for you? I could use the motivational stories.

You need to rank the site and start getting it some traffic. Without sales, the site is going to sell for much less than it would with some monthly sales and traffic.I hope you didn't invest too much money into this site. Was the site making money when you purchased it?

Adding articles and then selling the site isn't going to do much more the value. The best thing you can do is get the site some traffic sources. If you are hating every second of it though, just cut your losses and start working in the weight loss niche.

You know, after 3 years doing IM full-time, I actually can't think of working through something I truly hated.

For brain dead activities which I 'just need to get through', I'll play some tunes in the background and turn on robot mode and start working through them.

But things like writing that need my concentration, maybe set a 20 minute timer and work on it for just 20 minutes.

Be consistent, and you can actually get through a lot!

I've been a freelance writer for several years now. I used to hate selling. I didn't even want to learn copywriting because I hated the idea of writing in order to sell. I thought that all I had to do was post samples of my work and people would notice me. I felt sure that they would hire me once they read my articles because I believed I was that good.

Well, getting clients was next to impossible for me. I applied for jobs on oDesk (now Upwork). The only client who hired me was desperate for writers. He paid me $1 per article and promised to increase my rate to $2 because he was pleased with my work.

Things changed for me when I bought a course on ghostwriting. I realized that I needed to learn how to sell myself and my services if I wanted to get more clients and succeed in what I was doing. Over the years, I studied copywriting and how to market my services.

I used to hate selling, but now, I do it whenever I can. And because of it, I make a lot more money than I did when I didn't know how to sell my services.

That is nothing to be ashamed of, unless you we're trying to scam people out of their hard-earned cash, Writing for the purpose of selling is totally fine and ethical, provided that what you're trying to sell is of high value to your customers.

I really enjoy writing for selling, but I don't overhype what i'm offering.

It is obvious that you are not interested nor passionate about your tech blog, but you seem to be interested in the Weight loss niche, If I we're you, I would totally ignore the weight loss niche, because it is an extremely saturated market.

I am yet to see a product that can really help people lose weight without much effort.

I guess most of us worked with something we hate.

That's how most of us started. But that's how we learn. That how we get stronger.

    Hard work really pays off.
