Question about offering 100% commission

Why would anyone in the IM niche pay for your product if they can just signup as an affiliate, buy the product, and get 100% commission? Wouldn't lots of savvy unethical webmasters be able to get your product for free without even promoting it?

Am I missing something?

        Aaron,

There are probably hundreds, if not thousands, of products in the IM industry that pay 100% commission.

However, there is something in it for the product owner-the opportunity to build a massive list of buyers and affiliates.

Ever heard of the "$7 Dollar Secrets" system? You may search for threads discussing it in this forum or simply go to http://www.7dollarsecrets.com .

This is probably another dumb question but...

Can you set it up so that the person has to buy the product first before they are able to get 100% commission? This would be an incentive for people to buy - sort of like resale rights.

Rapid Action Profits allows you to configure the system so that
only customers can be affiliates. So, yes!

Looks like RAP would be a better choice then.

Thanks for the heads up on that one, John.

You can actually offer a closed doors affiliate program for customers only, so that only your customers have access to it even with Clickbank or any third party affiliate program for that matter.

I made a thread about this a few weeks ago. You can't offer 100% commissions with Clickbank though.

They allowed mine. I set it up in such a way that only my customers can access it. Just check the website in my sig, look for my product in the CB marketplace (you won't find it) or Google my affiliate program (it's not indexed).

Only my customers and JV partners have access to the affiliate program and I am using Clickbank.

I always though 100% commisions were for getting a big list quick too and to sign on some affiliates who like you

I'd recommend R.A.P. for this as you can configure it.
Also, if you're giving %100 commission then obviously your main goal isn't to make money off the sale anyway so you may want to re-think your plan if you're worried about losing money on a %100 product.

You also have to remember that not all IMers are at the same level. I've seen lots of times where someone could of used their own affiliate link to get a discount but simply didn't think of it or they forgot to do it.

Yes, I already have RAP, but thanks for the suggestion.

I'm not worried about losing money on the 100% product, I just don't want people getting it for free with no intention of promoting it.

The primary goal is to build my list but I don't think I have to rethink my plan for making money. The direct sales and the upsell should bring in money. The 100% commission is an incentive to buy if I set it up like John suggested.
