IMs Master Key to Traffic

Traffic is a problem as you are immature in your IM journey. As you become more experienced, you discover the traffic problem is a phantom tiger. The real issue to people's lack of success is elsewhere.

Great thread title...I thought I was in the WSO section for a moment.

Traffic is the easy part; if you're new to IM, you want to concentrate on learning how to convert traffic. You might throw 10,000 uniques at a page and earn an EPC of $0.01, whereas I might earn an EPC of $2 on the same traffic.

$0.01 per targeted visitor !?!?!? If that would be a true everyone would be rich in short time. I suggest forum traffic, as it converts really well or PPC for fast traffic, but you will want to track not to lose your money completely. Cheers :-)

The problem is not getting traffic. The problem is getting traffic that converts at lower cost then you have to invest to get it. AKA...ROI.

The problem with traffic is you have to pay for it.. I can drive a million "real people" to your site, but if you're selling cars and someone is looking for a fish tank; do you think you well sell a car? No. Bing has the lowest cost of buy targeted traffic. Do buy into all the B.S of the traffic game, you will do nothing but waste your money and time. Bing, Google, Yahoo etc, you will have to pay but your ROI will be real. They all have several platforms that you can choose from and different marketing platforms i.e FaceBook, Mobile Ads, Youtube etc.. I can tell you from one test I ran for one of my sites; I made a simple "real" video of my product, paid Google .02 per view and made over $300 on a $20 investment advertising it on YouTube. Think about that.

Understanding that it takes time to master a traffic source. To have the disciplined to stick with just one thing. Once I learned that things started to take off for me...

how much is ok for a decent traffic ?

Did you know that there are ways to structure your business so that massive traffic is not needed to make a lot of money?

Some businesses are totally dependent on get new visitors, fresh prospects if you will, in order to keep the wheels of their selling system turning.

But what if there were business models that only needed a few new visitors on a regular basis in order to be hugely successful?

What if you could command "captive audiences" or people that would flock to your site . . . not because you paid someone else to send that traffic to you . . . but because they genuinely were interested in what you were offering?

My friend Ross has fewer than 100 people that subscribe to his email list - yet he make a nice six figures a year. He doesn't rely on a constant stream of new prospects (traffic) in his business.

Yes, most site owners that don't think outside the box have business models that require constant traffic.

But constant traffic is not necessary for some businesses to thrive.

What good is traffic if you don't have a good backend funnel to make more money from them? Traffic is the least of your worries. Just pay for it.

Getting traffic is not the problem in the long run. It is getting the traffic to convert

That is why it is good to build a list as that is automatic trafficwhenever you need it and it is basically cost free aside the cost of paying for auto-responders which is nothing.

I think the best way to get consistent and highly-converting traffic is through relationship building.

The best way to build a relationship is to provide value. This is why landing pages and freebie offers work so well. You solve a person's problem for free and through the law of reciprocity they want to pay you back. Now if you can continue to provide value and solve people's problems, everything will come together.

This is the building blocks to business.

OP, I am beginning to doubt your business experience.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you are an off-liner simply trying to transition.

Man your immature in your IM journey you write silly thread after thread bash people and never visit any of your 1000 still threads add some value and don't keep expecting that all the successful people will just tell you things, get with it!

- giving away free content (PDF reports, videos, audios, powerpoint slides)
- ....

Master one traffic source at a time.

I agree with the fact that your traffic is an investment that your subscriber list pays dividends on for a long time if you see the bigger picture.

Honestly, as Tom, celente, SteveB, and others mentioned above... even if you break even on a paid ad and see no immediate profit (just break even), each (pre)qualified (or targeted) subscriber you gained is an asset that will produce raw profit from any given email sequence you send out for the life of that subscriber, provided you have the mental capacity to understand their interests.

Granted, I am no expert... and yet, I am not blind either to the fact, once I settle on making something happen, it's go big or go home. Sadly, having the knowledge and actually executing the knowledge are 2 totally different animals. However, I do not regret the time I spent cramming my brain full of all this wisdom shared here over the years.

The scary part is... I am almost convinced, once get a little traction under my feet, this information is certifiably powerful, and I don't need a degree or certificate from any guru marketing lab to know this is real, and anyone who either uses or plans to use this to their advantage is without question dangerous, and likely to be in the high percentile of earners - when measured against the average salary.

However... it's a deep rabbit hole to explore, and has no foreseeable end, as the possibilities are indeed infinite, as someone mentioned above. That can be scary to normal people.

I see a positive attitude there you do actually want to read/learn about it. such an approach can help ypu get way ahead in the field.

Your problem comes when you first try to get offers to convert

your second problem is the fear you feel when you convert on the regular but your afraid it's going to stop, will the traffic stop coming in (free traffic), will my copy stop working, will there be a trend shift that will change my industry... etc....

Traffic is not a problem. Traffic is everywhere. I mean traffic is on Facebook, Google, Youtube, Linkedin, Pinterest, Instagram. If you don't have a strong funnel that converts cold traffic into customer then traffic is worthless. So what we need to learn the right strategy with a funnel to convert cold traffic into customer. So this is a process to learn.

Traffic isn't the problem. Most people struggle to make money because they don't have a followup system in place that can convert their leads into customers.

I'm not a fan of buying traffic.

I buy data (email), because I'm building assets that I then own and can market to, over and over at low cost. However, it's a bit more complex than it sounds, in order to do it right and profitably. But in the end, I essentially own the traffic and can generate it at much lower costs.
