Can somebody mentor me on digital marketing?

Please am new here, from Nigeria. There is a lot of prospect for internet marketing and social media management, so i need help, resources or tools to get started. Also, i need someone experienced to mentor on this. Am glad to be here i have know doubt that am at the right place.

    It's not likely that someone will mentor you for free and if you really want a mentor that is going to really teach you what you need to know then you are going to probably pay them $500+. That's on the cheap end.

    Internet marketing is broad and will require some time for you to learn the ropes. Even before you get a mentor to mentor you, it is important for you also to know some basic things which will serve as foundation upon which every other information will be built upon.

    These are some sub niches within Internet marketing that requires specializing in and there are experts within these sub niches.

      I appreciate your response. I understand your concern but i must say that my interest lies in SEO and Social media marketing talking from the vintage point of where intend to operate from. I wish i can lay my hands on some materials to help me in my research. The more i research the more confused i get, that is why i wanted to hear from WF what works and how. Your response is very reasonable and worth considering.

        While I completely understand what you are saying about the more you learn, the more (I call it suffering) the confusion grows. It has actually been stated that the more knowledge you obtain, the more painful it becomes, which I believe; centers on developing empathy for mankind's ignorance...mine included of course, no insult intended.

        However, there are people that joined this forum when I did in 2011, and they took off running, applying one system or method at a time, and they are earning 6 and 7 figure incomes today... whereas, I took the 'tortoise route' and slowly built up my knowledge.

        I generally don't recommend stuff here, as everyone has their own flavor... but a few places (aside from here, of course) you can find some great training is...

        1.) "Affiliorama.com" - Mark Ling offers a ton of FREE useful information on many facets of 'getting started' the easy way, with affiliate marketing.

        2. ) I just found this a few days ago, but piques my interest is Tai Lopez's "67 Steps.com" - he'll send you an email with $30 OFF so, you get a ton of info for $37... but, I do believe it's $67 a month after 30-days, not sure... so do your own due dilligence.

        3.) Brian Clark's - "CopyBlogger.com" offers 15 (or more) free eBooks covering just about everything anyone could need to 'get started' online.

        I mean, there's so many reputable people who've made millions already, and it's almost difficult to suggest one... as once people reach that level, it's easy to give a lot of value for just a few bucks. The problem is, most people will not believe in themselves enough to get the knowledge, use the knowledge, and stop looking for shortcuts to some magic formula.

        Again, I've been here (on and off) between jobs, other gigs, distractions, etc... and whilst I may not have amassed a fortune in cash, I have immersed myself deep into the pools of knowledge that are offered here, and all over the internet... for anyone willing to "put forth the effort" to not only learn the ropes... but help others 'win the fight!' - as it suggests; the opportunity to attain and sustain ANY level of freedom regarding personal & financial development...is very real, if you recognize it, believe it, and don't seek shortcuts or at least... don't go chasing shiny objects.

        Sadly, only you can determine what events you'll compete in... it's like the movie "A Knight's Tale" - it's a privilege of honor to enter this arena, and only you can choose whether to 'fly arrows' - 'joust' or 'wield a sword' - so, in essence... nobody can mentor you, if you, yourself do not have a solid plan of action...and after five years... I am just now seeing my path laid out before me!

    As mentioned above you can use the search function of this forum and find virtually all the information you may need. You can research anything related to internet marketing and you will find that just about all topics have been discussed many times here.


    There is a lot to learn about the many aspects of IM but this forum is full of useful information.

    Hey Nelson,

    I appreciate your post. There is SO MUCH information out there and it is difficult to know whom to listen to.

    First, you need to determine what it is you want to do.

    ARE YOU PLAYING TO YOUR STRENGTHS?

    Doing business online is much the same as doing business in a brick and mortar establishment.

    There are many, many different services. Some require creative talents, some require analytical skills, all of them require ingenuity, business acumen, discipline, and perseverance.

    You can connect people who are interested in dogs, make funny cat videos, create a forum for enthusiasts of the Triumph TR-6, create a series of saxophone lessons, teach people how to sing, or help people advertise their brick and mortar businesses on the Internet.

    Some business models require one to hustle–to go out and about and sell people on your business like Steve Jobs did with Apple, some require the skills of an accountant and the ability to delve into minute details. Some require a high degree of creativity, while others require specialized technical skills.

    If the idea of creating a squeeze page frightens you, then why on Earth are you trying to start a business creating squeeze pages just because some “guru” told you that it’s the way to make money online? Good grief, find someone on Fiverr.com and let them create your squeeze page for five bucks!

    The fact is, there are lots and lots of ways to make money online and offline and you need to pair your own natural interests and abilities to the job. Do the things you’re good at, and delegate the things you’re not good at.

    In fact, you should make it your business to delegate everything, as much as possible. If your strength is coordination and delegation, you can be successful at any endeavor you choose.

    Why don’t you get out a simple legal pad right now and make a list of your strengths? A list of what you like to do combined with things you are great at doing.

    Look, you are trying to get away from a job you hate, right? So, don’t create a job for yourself that may require even more of your time that you absolutely hate! If you do something you love, you will be passionate about it, and it won’t even seem like work. Remember this: “If you do what you love, you’ll never work another day in your life!”

    ROME WASN’T BUILT IN A DAY.

    Your business won’t be either.

    Everyone wants to buy the definitive make money online package and be raking in the dough tomorrow.

    One of my mentors, who has been making his living online since 2006 and who studied Internet marketing for years before finally making money, recently said “I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I have yet to see any system that brought the buyer money overnight with almost no work. I’m still looking for that system.”

    I hope that something in there will help you on your journey to success--whatever success is to you.
