Energizer Bunny? - I Need to Borrow Him!

Hiya...

Alright, I need the bunny... just the image for a project, actually it's just a tiny piece of the project really, but I am unclear if it's legal to use the fluffy pink guy as a prop?

Suppose, I want to include an image of the Energizer Bunny in a free report, can I do that?

I mean, I've found a couple of affiliate programs that offer Duracell and Energizer battery affiliate promotions, but can I avoid the hassle (as I am not selling batteries, at least not yet) and just wanted to use their mascot as a reference to something along the lines of 'high energy'

How would you approach this...

Join as an affiliate an mask the image with an affiliate link... just to create the piece?

or

How (or Who) would you seek permission to include the image (if necessary?) to use it in my free report?

I feel really stupid asking this... but, I really need that bunny!

Thanks,

Art

PS - I did find an image on Wikipedia of the Energizer Bunny, and I've heard Wiki is considered public domain...but, again, better safe than sorry!

The image is trademarked and it's use is prohibited without permission. They make this clear on their website. I'm certain they will not give you permission for your use but you're certainly welcome to contact them and ask.

The short answer is no, you cannot (unless you have their permission).

The long answer is that these companies spend millions of dollars in advertising campaigns to get this level of recognition. They're not going to let people piggyback off their success. Further, it's trademarked.

Find something unique that belongs to you and no one else. Don't take the easy way out by using someone else's creative work.

I think you would be more suited to grant or copy-writing than affiliate marketing with trademarked images.

You really don't "need" the Energizer Bunny, you WANT the bunny. It's probably much better to come up with something else to symbolize something that's energetic. If your idea really is dependent on stealing the Energizer Bunny, you need a new idea.

If you post a few more details as to the content and/or subject matter of your report, then I'm sure some of the creative minds on here will come up with various ideas as to what you could utilize to indicate "high energy".

No man, I was actually just screwing around, I mean did have a rather twisted motive... "as in" people's attention spans are supposedly down to 3-4 seconds... meaning the whole world is borderline ADHD.

The idea was just to throw some hooks from the imagery... "High energy, long lasting... recharge your batteries with _____" - "Not to beat my own drum, but the Energizer Bunny doesn't hold a candle to my hyper-active mind..." - "This right hare... will make you feel all pink & fluffy on the outside, while your hearts beatin' like a big bass drum." - "Grab the batteries and a flashlight honey... I'm goin' in, let see just how deep this rabbit hole goes!"

My apologies... I was being retarded earlier. Should have never posted the thread.
