How Many Articles Should I Post

I'm working on launching a pair of blogs that I'm going to build up over the course of the next few weeks/months. For the most part, I'm just using article marketing and social bookmarking right now to draw traffic and build readership.

For those out there who have done this before, how many articles do you normally post. Is it possible to post too many at one time and if so, how many is too many? I can write fast enough and well enough to get a lot done every day, but if I can get similar results with 10 articles a week as I could with 20, I may as well do 10 and focus those couple of extra hours elsewhere.

Remember, the key to article marketing is to get exposure to your articles. You want them to rank in the search engines, so keyword research is crucial.

Additionally, testing is key. You should experiment and see what method provides you with the most traffic.

Thanks Adam. I've been doing a lot of research on this lately and have found a few specific methods that are working well for me. I suppose I haven't quite caught on to the specific patterns that work for one article over another.

I had a partner from another project who posted just one article last week and got more than 350 clicks and 8 conversions from that article. Let's just say I was a little jealous. Hoping to capture the same kind of energy in my current niche.

Do some research on keywords first on the niche you are going to promote in the articles.

Add 1 - 3 keywords in each article before submitting them. You can submit 1 - 3 articles per day or random like 1, 3, 4,7,8 days with post dated feature.

This method will allow you to get the full advantage of your articles and allowing you to have the niche keywords for search engines.

Thanks Tina, that's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. I'll have to download that and give it a read.

For my personal blog, I usually post 2 or 3 articles every 2 or 3 days. I find
that's sufficient to drive a steady flow of traffic to my site.

For article directories I'll maybe write an article or two a day tops.

Depends on my mood and how much time I feel like spending.

I have never done bulk article writing for either in a day so I can't say how
effective or ineffective it will be.

I think do it constantly less than 10 articles daily for blog.
Too many articles will draw google attention and your blog can be sandboxed or de-indexed.
It also good for your health so you can do other things.

You'd need to write a helluva lot of articles to trip a sandbox/de-index trigger with Google. That's not really much of a practical concern.

You didn't really ask for advice about how to write the articles, so I won't go into a prolonged discussion of keyword research, resource box quality, varying your links to capture deep-linking benefits, etc. Let's just assume you know what you're doing in that regard...

Then, the answer is simple. The more the merrier.

If you're asking how many articles you "need", that will depend on your goals, the nature of your niche and its competition, etc. If you're asking how many you "want", I can't think of a valid reason to turn off the spigot at some predetermined mark.

The question is how many can you write/buy before it starts to interfere with other essential aspects of your project and/or your budget.
