Hello everybody - I recently got divorced from my wife of nine years and got lay-off at the same time. I am here, at a Starbucks writing this. I am wondering what is the best way to make money online without any coding experience or online marketing. I do have some experience in selling on eBay. I also came across the deep web the other day and wondering if there's a way I could make money from there? Please advice

Do what you love to do. Think o something that you want to pursue. Do what makes you happy. It's best to work on something you love doing.

Sorry to hear about your losses. Whatever you do, don't max out your credit cards on any get rich schemes. When people are depressed, they're not thinking rationally.

Maybe freelancing will work for the mean time. Take a look at Fiverr first. There are some people there making full-time salaries. Notice, I say the word "some", as many people there are probably only making extra money on the side. There's also many who are not making any money there too.

Attitude is the #1 thing you have that you can control.

Mindset leads to success because you will do or not do based on how you think. If you allow yourself to stay depressed, you won't take action.

As difficult as it may be right now, do everything you can to get out of your funk and into a positive attitude.

Whether you do something in IM or go get a new job, do something.

Right now you don't have a plan and are clutching at straws. Get specific. For any business, you need a steady stream of prospects, a way of qualifying them to find out which have a specific problem that you can solve, and a way of closing them for that solution.

Leads >>> Qualified Leads >>> Sales.

What significant problems can you solve, for what target market? Start there.

    Excellent Advice Above.

There is something for everyone on the internet.

The people that want to build a real business will.

The people that want hit and quit methods will find them.

People gaming their lives away is not going anywhere.

People enjoying primal urges online also not going anywhere.

Take inventory of what you have and where you are and custom fit your strengths, assets, and weaknesses towards your goals.

You may start with affiliate marketing...promoting someones product or service and getting paid a commission.

The internet takes commitment if you truly want to succeed.

It can be done totally transparent or behind the scenes there is no one size fits all really.

Would be great if you follow up on what your interests evolve into and we will all contribute to see that you make it to your end goal.

As far as your attitude goes the title says it all, money is like a drug. You get high when you first get it, then you always want more. You are depressed over losing your marriage and having no money but money wont replace the happiness from your marriage.

You need to be more positive and think about what you really want and what will actually make you happy.

Hey Noah, I suggest you do this:

    - Look for a job in the meantime.

    - Start researching various internet business models.

    - Choose ONE you can see yourself committing to.

    - Educate yourself as much as possible about the "ins and outs" of running that business model.

    - Assuming you find some sort of employment, allocate a budget to your business; it doesn't have to be much but it has to be something you can consistently work with.

    - Put aside at least a couple of hours or so every day to work on your business but be very careful... you need to identify the income producing activities! Else you'll just be doing "busy work" and your cash flow will never increase.

I really am sorry to hear about your divorce, Noah.

Pick yourself up, and keep going. (Easier said than done, right?)

    Regards,
    Daniel

Making consistent income on the internet takes time and effort; anyone who says otherwise is lying, avoid those people like the plague.

If I were in your position, I would do two things. One, start freelancing on fiverr or wherever, get some income going. It'll be hardwork but just to see those dollars coming in, ill know I'm not wasting my time. It will also give me an opportunity to talk with different clients, keep busy and maybe get some ideas.

Secondly, I would learn or start something on the side. A new website perhaps, anything with potential to make money in the long run. You will need to have faith in yourself. Follow a proven course, whatever you do, do it whole-heartedly. No cutting corners no short-cuts. Let passion emanate from whatever you do and it will be profitable for sure.

If you need money fairly quickly and don't care too much about how, then learn about producing high end promotional videos for companys.

You can get a great intro from Fiverr, and great, professional vioceovers from there as well.

Then you only need a free video editor, to put images with it, and you have a video that you could probably sell to some companys up your street for a few hundred and produce one for $30. But that depends on your images.

Fiverr is good also, but $700 a month is probably your limit for that one.

At the moment take one day at a time, including our suggestions.

And you can take action while suffering from mild depression. You will most likely miss opportunities, but it can be done.

There are a few A***H**** online, so don't fall for anything that seems to good to be true.

You don't want to be scammed out of money on top of everything else.

You need to get yourself stabilized first before you spend all your time attempting to make money online. Go to temp agencies and get some temp work while you look for something full time to replace the job you had. Use your free time to figure out, learn about and try out what you want to do online while you aren't under undue pressure which can lead to costly mistakes.

          Hi Noah,

Has anything changed now at the 2 weeks mark? Is there a type of marketing you find yourself attracted to learn more about? Are you leaning more offline than online?

Depressed and broke is not a good combination my friend. Under those conditions it effects your health then you could not even afford the medical.

So massive action will be needed.

Besides the obvious JOB route try and figure out what you can do for other marketers. Promote their products/services or offer your own service that would assist others achieve their goals.

As mentioned before, I would get stabilized first, and in the meantime start learning the basics of IM, take action, make mistakes, learn, and grow.

Just remember, making money online has to be treated like a business, and not just some way to make quick bucks (ebay or craigslist being the exception... to a certain degree). Otherwise, you run the risk of failing more than succeeding, and the mistakes you'll make may not be simple ones (like misspellings on your website), but instead, very serious issues (such as tax, copyright, contracts, massive investments without due diligence, and more).

Also, I too deal with stress and anxiety, and the one thing that always help in so many ways, is exercising (if you're not already). If you are, perhaps change it up. Instead of the treadmill for cardio, get outside and go hiking or play a sport, instead of traditional weight training, try kettlebell training, etc.

          Hope this helps.

Where there is a will there is a way. Don't let a little setback stop you from succeeding. It's also important in times like this that you look at your whole life and be grateful for all the great things you have. Although Money is a big deal in a money driven world, it is not your key to happiness.

    Curry,
Associate degree is useful. Put that on your resume. Apply for jobs you know how to do and use that paper to get to the top of the list ahead of the high school graduates. You dont have to compete for jobs requiring full bachelors or more. Be wary of hard labor jobs that will leave you too tired to work 4 hours at night on your online marketing job. Apply for the Trades. Most are looking for fresh blood as the majority of the Masters are retiring now...

There are so many things to do online, it is overwhelming. I am still in ramp up phase myself. Most of the guys say 2 to 3 years to get into income. Mostly due to all the mistakes that get made while you try this or that. There is just NO way to bust the learning curve. There isn't. Learn the basic 3 silo build money website, build one for each niche and follow an online coach who meets your personality and learning style. Most of these guys already made their money and are in their "give-back" mode.

The best advice though, do not learn learn learn...learn-do, learn-do, learn-do instead.

You might be depressed now but you just asked advice about earning money in an area that constantly evolves and is FULL of ready information. Grab it, work it!

...In the meantime, a job keeps the lights on.

Your first step is to avoid buying anything online that promises to teach you how to make money. It is all a scam. Second, do research on blogs/forums and ask questions. (like you're doing right now.) Third: Pick a niche/product and start testing. Or you could also find something you're passionate about, create a youtube channel or something. There many ways out there. .

Unless you have read every single thing that promises to teach how to make money, you have no clue as to whether it's all a scam or not. I've bought and seen quite a bit over the years and have a different opinion.

Second, do research on blogs/forums and ask questions. (like you're doing right now.)
Ever wonder who makes the majority of these posts, answers questions, creates blogs, etc? The same folks you are saying are scammers. While there are exceptions (I'm not currently in the MMO market), many posters aren't posting to help the world (with nothing to sell) but to line their wallet. So, what's the difference?

digging a deeper hole for yourself, is not going to help. But I can understand your situation.

even those some families members are utterly useless, I have always found there are one of two, that are good moral support and good for guidance, and wise above their years.

A good talk with this sort of family member, would be wise. Althought it may not help you short term, it may give you some direction. Usually a father, or a mother or someone like that. Is the best.

Get your mindset right and start working on something. Find the right model and go ahead.

If you are trying for an online business, you must not expect overnight success. You must sell either a product or ad space in your website or do services for others.

Choose the one which suits you and go ahead. Worrying doesn't change anything, but actions does.

I have no degree, but I can still get a job. Lots of jobs. And I'm not talking about work on the internet (although there is a lot I can do here too).

You might be surprised at the number of people who do something completely different from what they got their education in.

If you are truly broke and don't have a plan, then I agree your best bet is to keep looking for a job - any job.

Sorry to hear about your situation.

Take care of your immediate needs first. Get a job. It takes time to start making money with IM. You don't have that time. Find steady employment so you have money coming in.

Then, start healing. Get counseling if you need to. But don't start anything in IM when you're depressed. Trust me, I'm speaking from experience. It never works out well and it might just make you even more depressed. Only when you're feeling positive again you can start dipping your toes into the IM world.

Like I said, take care of you first. Even the best IM ideas take time and money to implement. Plus, you'll need a very clear head when moving forward with any business venture.

    Good luck!

Sorry about what you are into.
First of all, take a deep breath and raise up your self esteem.
I know things can go s**t in just a moment.
The bad thing is that usually bad situations come one after the other.
The good thing is that when you feel like you reached the bottom of the barrel, there is no deeper you can go! So there is the time to get up again and make life progress.

As the other guys previously said, you have to get a job first to get some bucks and work the online thing in parallel.
Don't go straight to "make money online", because you will then find out that the barrel may have ...no bottom!

I understand you want to jump into online opportunities, but I think you should first get back to a steady job. A job is your foundation. A job will pay the bills and hopefully lift your spirits, too. Your online projects will succeed in time. Best of luck to you.

Affiliate marketing may be one area to explore. You can create your own blogs and sites and monetize them. If you can get traffic, you can make money.

Find a niche/subject you are passionate about and enjoy too. I've always felt that enjoying what you do is important.

Uber to the rescue. Make money driving people to the airport. Do IM while you type in your car. At least you are not home crying. Get out and smell the morning air.

Look on the bright side, your ex-wife will not yell at you now. Yeah, after you drive drunks to their happy homes at 3 am in the morning. Uber has a $26/hr guarantee from 12-4 am now.

Selling junk on Ebay is an excellent way to make money. However, you will run out of useless items soon. Still, it is great to turn your trash into cash. All that stuff cluttering up your attic has gotta go.

Typically, I do not stay too long in char bucks, but they do have great WiFi and I like to meet people there who need me to do work for them and go over our company.

Make something out of what you love to do. You could try blogging if you're into blogging. Try travel blogs. You're not only making money out of it but you also enjoy the pleasure while doing it.

My advice is to start a blog about something you truly love.

It could be anything, food, traveling, sports, really anything. Creating content from something you are passion about will not be hard, being active on social media will not be hard either because you enjoy your niche.

It will not happen in a week, but you can build a popular blog and start making money from it. Having your own email list should be a MUST HAVE but is not really hard, also you can promote products from other people and you do not need to do anything, only lead the people to them.

To start with, a blog should be the main priority, creating content and generating traffic from commenting other popular blogs and creating a cool social media account sharing awesome content.

Just follow this simple rule -> 80% fun and engage 20% promotion

Never promote things directly on social media, do it from your blog or from an email list, use social media to generate traffic and to engage with your audience!

For blogs, do you need to have a perfect grammar skill?

For food and traveling, do you actually need to travel in order to blog?

I feel like it is really good to gain indeas to write when you're not actually traveling.

Not perfect but you should exhibit a firm grasp of the English Language or whatever Language you are writing in.

I think you do not necessarily need to Travel in that Niche. Of course it does not hurt, whatsoever

    Hi Curry 007

I'm sorry to hear about your recent split and job situation. I've recently been laid off from my contract. Which is why i'm sitting in a pub writing this.
Remember that your perception of your current situation is relative and not absolute, everything will seem hard right now but you will come out of the there end in time. The best thing you can do right now is be surrounded by positive energy. Understand what you like and have clear goals geared towards your passion and drive through. Creating this list and crossing tasks off day by day will create mental gratification, allowing you to take control of your future.

As Internet marketing can take some time I would look for employment again, even if it's part time, just to create an income and gain some structure to your life. As Sigmund Freud said "life as we find it is to hard for us, it entails to much pain, to many disappointments, impossible tasks. We can not do without palliative remedies, we can not dispense with auxiliary constructions. There are perhaps three of these means: Powerful diversions of interest which lead us to care little of misery. Substitutive gratification which lesson it and intoxicating substances which make us insensitive to it".

In terms of Internet Marketing strategies and Niches ect.... I believe you already have everything laid out on this thread. This is more of a mindset/phycological aspect which i believe is fundamental.

    Good luck!

Sorry about the job loss and divorce. It sucks. Trust me I know. If you can, go with a 3-step approach:

    1) Ebay

    2) Fiverr

    3) Freelancing

These 3 ways of making money online are easy, and since you already have experience with Ebay, bring that back to life. It's going to take you awhile to learn online marketing and have true dominance over it. I would stick with these 3 first, and also find another job to get some income coming in to promote yourself/product(s) on these 3 platforms. Good luck.

As others have said you need a shift on the mindset, that's how you make it happen.

Making money online and suceeding depends on a lot of factors, one key thing is knowing how to invest, with that I mean is how to invest time, brain power (and a bit of money helps if you know how to do it)

There's a ton of solutions, some require more time, some require more money, some require more brain power but all of them take some effort.

My advice to you is to think outside the box and get the right mindset to make it happen, for example, I met a dude who liked to tweet, he tweeted some really clever stuff and people like him, had a lot of followers in his niche, turns out a company approached him for affiliate marketing and boom, all the time and cognitive power he invested over the years got him an entry in digital marketing and he is living comfortably by doing social media marketing.

I'm not saying you should go and do that because it takes time and it's not just for everyone, perhaps even marketing is not your thing, the point is that simple ideas like that can turn into great stuff if you are willing to put effort.

    Best of luck bud

    Mark

My advice to you is to get another job in the same field or a field you like and just do Internet marketing on the side as you are going to need a steady source of income until you get back on your feet financially. I would also consider seeking a downward modification of child support or alimony if you are paying either.

    Hi Noah...
My advice to you is to get an offline job first and the free time you have use it to sell stuff on eBay again...you could also learn how Fiverr works(there are a few good articles, e-books and courses about this online...http://www.makefiverrmoney.com/book/#buynow - you can start with the Fiverr Success e-book on this page...).

And start saving some money that you can use later to pay for someone who really knows what hi's doing to coach you, so you can get faster to results. Most people try to succeed on their own and fail miserably or waste years until they see some substantial income coming their way. Don't be one of those people...

Be smart, do whatever you need to stay positive and motivate yourself to take action and make money from eBay, Fiverr...save as much money as you can and as soon as you can afford to do it, start paying for coaching.

My advice is to get coaching on blogging, list building/management and selling your own products through affiliates(this is how top internet marketers make their money)or you can find someone who can show you how you can make a ton more money on eBay or Amazon or whatever...just don't try to do it on your own...

Hello, there, Noah, that is a difficult situation, for sure and I wish you the very best.. One or two things you can try is build a website and put an affiliate that you like on it or find a reasonable MLM that wont kill your pocketbook every month that is also in a niche you love.. Hope that helps a little, my friend...

Thank you to everyone for tips and suggestion. I have been really depressed for the past 2 months after the divorce and layoff. I can't think rationally. All the motivations are gone and I don't have energy at all. There are weeks that I was sleeping for 17 hours. Luckily, I move in back with my mother. I am 36 year old and a shame of myself. I don't have any family or a friend that I can reach out to.

This week, I have been setting goals and am finally getting out of the house. I have been doing ebay for (buying items from thrift shop and reselling on ebay) other than that, I don't have much technical skills to leverage. As you can see, my English and grammer isn't good. But I am trying.

My question is do you need to be good at English to get into Online Marketing?

Thank you to all. I am finally feeling motivated for the first time in months because of all of your kind words.

Some of these tools that I personally use are:

✓ Thesaurus.com : This website will help you find synonyms for any word that crosses your mind!

There are hundreds, if not thousands of ways to make money online, it's just finding the one that works for you.
Start with the question, "What do I really want from life?"
"How much do I need to earn to live that life?"
"How much time am I prepared to commit to creating that life?"
"What am I already good at"?
"How would I like to express myself if at all?"
Once you know that, look around and try some things, be prepared to fail multiple times. We all have. Find someone who leads a life that you aspire to and learn from them.
As Claudiu mentioned, a coach can help you get there a lot faster than by yourself.

I am so sorry. That's rough. Keep in mind "What doesn't break you, makes you stronger." It's a test of your character...don't let it break you. Your emotions can creep into and around your brain and keep you from moving from depressed to your "new normal." I know it's hard. Very hard. But, you will be surprised at yourself it you just keep remembering that you've got a choice now...control those emotions or let 'em swallow you up. That said... and I don't say it without empathy as anyone who has been in business has tasted scares that can shake your core -- you could try today..mechanical turk. It won't give you an income to live on although I have come across some people who actually do it full-time (how I do not know!) and make anywhere from 30 to 60 a day. One anomaly guy makes 100 day but good grief, how? I've been working on it to write an article about it for some rural entrepreneurs. It's got a learning curve. Starting out is hard and can bring in not much jingle but after your master the scripts, get fast, get qualifications ...you start making more money. It might be just enough to lift your spirits... it can get a bit addictive. There are mturk forums on Reddit. Join 'em. It'll take your mind off your sadness while you look for other work. Use the knowledge you have and that gained from your experience to take up outsourced jobs in companies similar to yours. Just talk to a few firms. I started the same way 5 years ago using the net for useful info and now I employ guys to help me out to meet deadlines. You don't have to think only of sowing seeds of greed in people's minds to make money as the only way to make money online.

Advertise on craigslist and classified ads sites "I will help sell your items on eBay." Ask people (anyone)you interact with if they need things posted on ebay and you charge a percent or flat fee. Don't fall victim on cl to the ads looking for eBay poster, you can check by noticing that same ad in multiple cites. Can't you drop ship on eBay?

As difficult as it may be at times like these, you have to stop feeling sorry for yourself. Think of today as a brand new start. The past is the past and can't be changed. But you can mold your future.

The internet is as vast as space and there's room for everyone to make money. Do some research, affiliate marketing is the easiest way to make money for those who lack experience.

    Above all, think positive.

The idea that 'life can be better' is a good one, it is valid and if you take the time and energy to explore the means to achieve this, you will be rewarded. All things must pass, your depression is the natural result of experiencing failure and frustration. We must take ourselves off, and view our lives from a different perspective in order to change matters.
This internet stuff is a means to an end - what the internet provides is ready, easy access to different markets. 3.5 billion souls are online users - this grows weekly, and by 2017 will be up to around 4.5 billion. Now you must decide on how you can leverage this ready market: you must look within and choose one first direction, one aspect of your own experience, skills and knowledge. I explore ways to get started without any investment right here.

There are lots of good replies here. As someone who has been where you are now, the only "cure" is time and staying busy. I hope by now you have a job and an income.

You idea of selling on ebay is probably the fastest and easiest way to start online. I've been doing online marketing for 15 years but always worked fulltime, with no intention of quitting my job. Just when something is "working" online, the internet changes and I start back over at zero. But I have also only done things I am comfortable with and not followed the crowd.

So take care of your health, keep praying, keep busy, keep working and keep reading all you can here.
    Good Luck.

Update: For the past two months or so, I have been working for my uncle's contracting business from 8-6 PM, 7 days a week. I am making roughly $130 cash but it is not an easy job. I am very tired and worn out by the end of the day working under the hot suns. I have the opportunity to write this because I am off for the next 3 days. The job can get really physical from time-to-time. I have to put my sweat, tears, and blood to this job. I have cuts, bruises, and injuries that I sustained from the job. Most of my co-workers don't have a GED or barely made it out of high school. I get the opportunity to see how my uncle manage these workers. I managed to get out of depression after putting my mind on the job. I hope to save enough money to move out of my mom's house and start a whole fresh new life in 2017.

Thank you all for the supports and encouragement. You guys motivated me throughout this rough time. I am still dealing with the divorce paperwork and etc. 2016 has been a rough year for me.

i would say in life there seems always a problem one after another but its good to come back up and do what you love . And in regards with internet marketing i would suggest do something with fiverr . you can find many guides online regarding this , and i guess its the quickest way to make some extra bucks. But regardless i would suggest to built something long term like email list or blogging . so u can quit your job and live the laptop style . hope that helps .

I went through a divorce at the age of 42 and had to completely start over. It wasn't easy but I'm proof it can be done.

Thanks for coming back and giving us an update. You can do this!

    Good luck, Rose

One thing I know for sure is give yourself time to heal and don't grasp for straws trying to make money. This is a hard place to be but you can get better and come out the other side stronger. Remember it isn't happening to you, it is happening for you for whatever reason.

First of all am really sorry about your loss but you have to go and create your future.I can help you with that how to make income in very easy and simple way:

I did found an amazing instagram software that does work for you on autopilot in any niche what I mean by that is:

When you post a photo on instagram and add short description the software automatically target those people in the same niche what is photo all about. If you want to sell something or just want instagram followers this software is amazing.

All you'll ever need is an INSTAGRAM account + an ECOMILY account + 2 MINUTES to set it all up and you'll be profitable in no time.

I did upload a youtube video how it works here.

    That's really awesome.

I have some free time this upcoming week since my uncle haven't accepted any new projects. I am wondering as where to start? Should I jump right into affiliate marketing or list building?

Expertise in any subject or field is required to develop your brand. If this is not possible, you must hire people with such expertise. Also you must have a team that can focus on promotion. Ultimately, it's about investment in any business that's important.
