350 clicks in 3 day period on amazon but no sales

Guys,

I started click ads on Amazon on Friday. I am selling a product for $70 which is below market price for its category. My average CPC (Cost per click) is around $.38 and I am on the first page for a lot of keyword searches. Any advice? My product is listed as "Global Outdoors Portable Fire Pit Grill Flame Caddy".

Thanks,
Al

The design is boxy and not very appealing. You have several pictures for the product. One, with the tent, is showing a DIFFERENT PRODUCT that has wheels for easy transport, top handle, and a nicer looking design.

Your own picture convinced me not to buy your product, and to go look for a better one.

With your price point, Amazon fees, product cost, and niche competition, any click ads are going to be tough to be profitable on your best day. You're probably too broad starting out.

  • kindsvater,
Thank you for your quick response. When you say that I am "too broad" what are you inferring? I understand your advice.
    Thank you,
    Al

Al, I was suggesting your keyword search terms may be too broad and picking up clicks for unlikely buyers. Just a hunch since we don't have the details of what you are doing.

Example: Fire Pit is a broad category. Camping Fire Pit, Portable Fire Pit, etc., are more specifically aligned with your product.

  • kindsvater,
Ironically I was using fire pit as my main keyword. I will make them more specific to save some cash and target better.
    Thank you,
    Al

Lots of clicks and no sales basically means that your traffic isn't targeted enough. Try to position your affiliate link in front of people who are interested in getting your product. Try to rank for buyer keywords like "buy Global Outdoors Portable Fire Pit Grill Flame Caddy" or "Global Outdoors Portable Fire Pit Grill Flame Caddy review" and your conversions should improve.

    • Edwin,
Thank you, what do you mean by ranking for buyer keywords? are you saying I should send a report out, or change my actual title?
      thanks again,
      Al

Edwin is out to lunch on this one. He thinks you have an Amazon affiliate website and is giving generic and useless advice. Ignore that post.

Yo Edwin - Al is an Amazon seller and his question relates to purchasing advertising on Amazon.

350 clicks isn't a whole lot of traffic. You'll need a lot more traffic to start seeing sales.

That said, maybe your traffic isn't targeted enough. Just a thought.

When it comes to making money from Amazon, you need to put in place a lot of things.

You need to send in lots of quality and targeted traffic.
Your website design and ads is essential for your ctr.
Your content is your sales person. It's not enough to have just quality content but selling content and it mustn't be a review content either.

Is there a problem reading the thread?

Balls ... This isn't an Amazon affiliate site.
