Online Marketing for Moving Business

Hi,

I have a moving company in Melbourne Australia. I want to promote it online, which traffic source is best to catch the customers as i want to target the customers in Melbourne only.

    Facebook offers extremely detailed targeted options with their advertising platform. You can also use Google Adwords and Bing Ads but Facebook has the most options for putting your offer in front of your target customer.

      I Thing i will go for facebook advertising and Bing ads. Does they allow to promote specifically locations as i only want to promote it in Melbourne.

    I think you would do well on craigslist with this kind of company. You could also hire someone to do local seo for your website, if you have one.

    webmarke is right too. Start posting ads on Craigslist. That's a great way to start getting loads of free traffic.

    The best traffic source is the one that lets your target your prospects so you can segregate your "perfect customers" for a marketing campaign. Your perfect customers are those people that already want what you offer and they are ready to pay for it now!

    Test and track your campaigns, regardless of the venue, tweak your follow-up ads and optimize your offerings. Start on a small scale and only ramp up when you are advertising profitably.

    Posting on craigslist and various discussion boards would be a great help for you to promote your business online. It would also be better to promote it via social media for you to get more responses.

    I'd say Facebook if you want to pay for targeted ads.
    Also consider Gumtree/Craiglist/Local Classifieds.

    Lastly, this takes a bit more pre-work but would be effective also is event-driven SEO.
    Longtails including the word Melbourne such as House Removals Melbourne.
    Also write articles and videos relating to moving home. Create an info product such as
    "7 Things You Must Do BEFORE You Even Think About Moving Home"
    Send all leads to an effective landing page and create scarcity so that they call asap to secure a discount.

    Get a google plus account, get into google places! Very important!
    get a google plus business page - share what you'd also share on FB, take care your target keywords are in post title

    This will vastly increase your organic visibility on google, and g places will firmly locate your business for customers

    Get into every web directory available (check out the paid ones first though if they are worth their money)

    Set up a facebook business page - facebook will then all by itself offer you ads to reach people in your area (I haven't checked that out myself though - I only know my facebook page gets these fb ads offers - they always say things like: Reach 180 000 customers interested in your service in the location around ...)

    Agreed with most of the above. Get listed on sites that are high ranking for your search terms while you grow your own site.

    Post on Craigslist and other forums that people use to find your service.

    But don't overlook offline marketing. Reach out to storage companies in the area, truck renting services, etc and have them recommend you for a commission.

    Services like U-Haul, when you sign up online to rent a truck, will offer you 2 movers for 2 hours for $150-200. Or you can choose to pay for additional time.

    Network with people in the moving/storage/real estate market.

    I specialize in services such as yours and I use all of the above options in my campaign not just one of them. I stay away from google and bing payed ads aswell as facebook paid ads because I dont believe in paying for traffic if you can get it for free.
