Are MRR Products Dead?

I am wondering if much people use MRR products these days. I have noticed within Google Trends that PLR products seem to be dominating the market these days. I am wondering what the community's point of view.

I put them together in packages and my list eats them up. They are definitely not dead. A lot of PLR products are also resold with MRR and often PLR products are rebranded and sold as MRR. I make tons of money from MRR, so they are alive and well, at least for me anyway.

Thanks for letting me know this... If you don't mind me asking, what type of products you deal with mainly?

No, they are not dead... they're actually more live than ever... people today are lazy, they can't make their own articles, eBooks and courses from scratch.

PLR and MRR products makes it easier to create your own products.

I bought a PLR package about a month ago off JVZ. Loosely in the "healthy living" market. I spent about $75 total on the main and both upsells.

Compared to other products launched at the same time, it was crushing them. I bought on the third or fourth day and 250+ of the FE had been sold.

    So, no.

Nope. Not even close to dead, nor is it retirement-home bound, nor having a middle age crisis - none of that.

In fact, I would say it's just now hitting its adult stage. The products being churned out are better than ever - certainly better quality than anything that came out pre-2011.

The demand for video plr has risen quite a bit, of course. Purely article and ebook packages don't really cut it today, but there is still some demand for them.

And you have to keep in mind that the number of new people just starting out with Internet Marketing has been a steady trend for several years. It hasn't diminished at all. New people coming in all the time. Most of them don't have a clue what to do or how to start, and buying plr helps them get started quicker and a little easier.

MRR products are still being produced and sold. Not every product creator wants to include PLR rights, partly because MRR helps retain the author's brand. It seems only in places like JVzoo is where PLR is the preferred choice for creators. Much of JVzoo's market is geared towards the Internet Marketing community anyway. MRR products tend to spread across many niches, such as health and fitness, so you will see MRR products at the more diverse marketplaces.

PLR, over the years has become sort of a grey area, Quality is really everything but no matter how good the product is, be it articles, software just about any digital product really, You have to make it unique and valuable to a buyer otherwise its mostly just useless.

    Quality,

quality is a general term applicable to any trait or characteristic whether individual or generic <material with a silky quality>. property implies a characteristic that belongs to a thing's essential nature and may be used to describe a type or species <the property of not conducting heat>
Private Label Rights, are very misunderstood by sellers and buyers alike.

However, in the US, there is a definite difference.

Private means (not public) but there is also a tenet of intellectual property which simply states that you as a buyer have the right to develop your own intellectual property because you purchased private label rights, (keep in mind that just because a seller has a yes you can or a no you can't license, does not mean that it is legal) You have to apply the rule of law, in the situation and the venue where you live and as a note to the wise, if in doubt, consult a professional.

One of the bigger issues that I see with PLR content, is that more often now what we see are GPL, scripts being used in a PLR product, (software) when the seller has no right to sell that product as part of their PLR product.

But thats just my opinion, I feel there are a lot of fly by night sellers that will slap together something that looks good and takes a long time to digest or access, (big downloads)

Then they run for the hills and spend your money but of course that is usually the exception, hopefully.

People often have a hard time developing additional products from PLR because the product is not that good to begin with or the basis for making money with PLR is saturated and or hyped up.

A great example would be someone claiming that you can charge a business $5000 for a website and they are happy to pay you tons of money, but the cold hard truth here is a simple one, business owners did not get into business by being ignorant.

Nor do they pay you tons of money for something that they can do for themselves using the same online tools you just bought and paid for because of deceptive selling tactics.

So in some ways, for most people, I do think that MRR is dead as a viable means to sell to other people, mostly because the average consumer does not have the ability to generate new content from the old content and additionally the amount of money you can make with PLR is usually limited by how many buyers have already purchased the product.

    (We call this market saturation)

If Seller X, sells a product for 60 days and sells 2400 copies at $39.00 and then offers PLR and ships it out the door, how many people do you think you can sell it to if more than 2000 people have already purchased it, (now keep in mind that the IM marketplace is not as big as you might imagine) usually if more than 100 people have heard of a product then you might be facing an uphill selling battle, basically its the idea that when everyone already owns a product and you buy the PLR rights and you brand it and put it online, the average person may not make a dime, in fact that is what happens most of the time.

So what happens next is that people start lowering the price point, until it has no value at all and then guess what people start giving it away, further reducing the value.

That is totally NOT true, PLR is not Dead! I agree with the fact that Private Label Rights Material that the author gives you with only what you can do as a Yes or No rules... But in reality it has no legal meaning or defintion whatsover.

But, hey... If the author of the PLR gived you the rights to resell or reedit his material, then, we can say that you are free to do whatever you want with it. Because after all, No one is going to sue you for anything, because you got the legal rights to a product from it's legal owner... So, we can safely say that PLR is 100% Legal.

And you also mentioned that if a 100 person bought a product, then it will be difficult to sell it again, well that is also not true, the IM Market maybe saturated... But people are still making money in other Niches.

For me, I never use PLR products in the IM Niche, because probably people already know about PLR!

Instead I use PLR material in non-IM niches... This way I can do whatever I want without having to worry about market saturation or anything.
