how do i convert a word document to pdf?

How do i do this while preserving the links and the material. I used a free one but that did not preserve the links in the documents so they weren't clickable.

Hope you guys can help.

    Check the homepage of the Warrior Forum. There is a section called "Recommended by Warrior Forum." There is a link to a pdf converter from one of the links there.

  • Open office does the trick.
    I'm not sure but I think you can type a word document and save it as a pdf file.
    I assume that would be possible because open office is basically the same as Ms Office so they should do about the same things.

    • Some versions of word will lose all the formatting when you save it as a pdf so the open office route is better for you

  • Open office is the best i've used as far as a free program goes; however, you can also use word but it will lose some of the formatting depending on your settings

    You can just type it in word and click print to PDF file.
    The program I used was pdf959, but now i use openoffice

    • If you happen to have a Mac, you're in luck!

      All it takes is to hit "print" and then find the bottom left button that says "PDF" and when you
      click on that, you'll get a menu with options, the first one of which is "Save as PDF"!

      It also converts web pages into PDF (great for creating a library of great sales pages for learning and inspiration), and anything else that's printable. One more reason why I love my ibook even though it has a few drawback (i.e., it doesn't play nice with most software).

  • I have to add that openoffice is the easiest program to use if your adding links within your ebook, concerning chapter links from the table of contents.

    It's just a couple of clicks and done.

  • Normally if you used those pdf converter that need to go via printer driver, the links will have issue.

    You can either use open office software to edit your document (I something hate this as when I migrate my stuff from MS Word to Open Office, the document look damn ugly)

    The other way is to get a pdf rebrander (or similar) that do not need printer driver.

      I was having the same problem recently. Although I'd always used OpenOffice for some reason it wasn't converting my docs to pdf.

      Someone on the forum told me about doc2pdf.net/converter and I've found it works perfectly. It's free to use.

    try to use Altsoft Xml2PDF for converting Word 2003 to PDF
  • ive used doc2pdf.net too and it works great for me too. my links have always been fine.
  • I have an older version of MS Word and have no issues with using a .doc to make a PDF.

    I wouldn't use anything else but Open Office.

    Used to use PDF Convertor and OO works better.

    Download it for free.
    Install it and use is as a printer

    Step by step:

    Open your MSWord document, once you are ready to convert it,
    click on file, click on print,select your printer (pdffactory pro),
    If you want to use the property to secure your pdf so no one can copy or change the content, then click on property, click on security and heck the password or do not print, copy etc options.

    Once you are done with this, return to your printing and click, then give your file a name and click on save.

    Voila, your pdf file is ready
