Don't know what the hell i'm gettin' into. HELP!!!

Guys, has anyone had good results with google banner ads?
Few days ago I created an adwords account to advertise on youtube.
F ing mistake. I targeted Australia Uk and Canada. But I got 98% views from F ing
Belarus, ukraine and Poland. Wtf? I decided to stop it immediately.
There's still money in the adwords account and I've been thinking to do banner ads,
but i have a few concerns.

1) If the targeting will be accurate and honest, I don't want google playing
tricks on me, with fake views/clicks from slav countries.

2) How can I estimate how much I'll be paying for banner clicks? I've watched
youtube videos, but I don't see it clearly...

3) Is it a bad decision to advertise on google if you don't have thousands to spend daily?

Thanks.

1: Targeting is accurate, Google does not send you fake traffic cause they want you to get good results and spend more. There might be some people generating fake traffic across the web.
2: From $1 to $2 for each click.
3: You don't need thousands to spend daily, $100 or more would be enough.

Dude, you have to know what you're doing with Adwords. You can't just dive in and create a campagn hoping for the best. You will lose a boatload of money that way...

There is a lot of research and testing involved if you want to create a successful campaign.

Hey Jason, at this point I suggest you learn as much as you can about using Google banner ads correctly.

After you're more knowledgeable about it, then you can resume.

Paid traffic is always tough when starting out, even experienced marketers occasionally lose money on campaigns until they find a winning match.

But make the process less stressful by gaining a solid understanding first.

    1) You might want to try the following: Campagne > Settings tab > Location Options (advanced) > Target > Set "People in my targeted location". Google should now only target people who are physically in your target location(s). The other 2 options also target people who might be in Poland and have shown interest in your target location(s). Which could explain the issue you describe.

    2) That's almost impossible... which I think sucks. There are so many factors (overall ad account performance, KW quality score, CTRs etc etc) involved to calculate costs, that you only know what you're going to pay once you have to pay. I mean, Google has given me CPC estimates of $0.30, while in reality I'm paying $1+ per click.

    3) Depends on whether your niche has a lot of AdWords competition or not. Low competition, means low CPCs. High competiton, means high CPCs. So, if you have a small marketing budget and high AdWords competition, it might be wise not to advertise via AdWords. Instead you might first try and find traffic sources with less niche competition.

My personal opinion on AdWords: I see some strange things happening with AdWords too. For example: I've some really targeted keywords and for some reason they have a 100% bounce rate. Plus... and this I find really strange... those keywords generate session durations of not even 1 second. Which basically means someone clicks on my ad and immediately leaves my website again, without reading a single word. This, I think, might very well be caused by competitors and I think AdWords should filter such rubbish clicks.

Keep in mind the rise of Adblockers and also find other ways to advertise your products or build other sources of income. FYI in 2015 it is estimated around $22Bn of revenue was lost due to adblockers which will only increase with the increase in usage.
