I Have a Product to Sell (DVD Movie) - Need a Sales Page - Suggestions Please

Hi,

I have a product and an order page. Have the product on Ebid and a few places which direct to an order page but would prefer to send potential buyers to a page which describes the product and the service a bit better before customers go to the order page.

Have had a look on Google but can't see anything suitable. I have a domain name I can use and would prefer free hosting if possible, but will pay if I need to.

I just need to be able to show around 6 pictures with a description and an order button/s and maybe be able to show a video clip or two. If such a page was integrated into some form of promoting - pay per click or organic or whatever - that might be good. I would need to promote the product anyway. I suppose I might look at Fiverr for promotional services once I get the page up and running. The DVD can sell globally.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Sir....If you are serious about making money then you need to invest in yourself.

Just get cheap hosting and create a page to promote the product.

All you need to do is search google for "cheap webhosting".

By the way...You could hire someone on Fiverr to create your page for you, but I would not recommend purchasing advertising from there. I have heard of no one buying traffic from a fiverr vendor and having success.

    Sam,

You have to remember that people will only buy from sites that they trust to give them their money's worth and to carry out their financial transaction safely and securely.

Free web sites with embedded ads and weird sales systems don't engender trust or safety.

If you're going to be in business, you should do it right and spend just a little bit of money to look professional.

You can get decent hosting for $4/month. You can register a great dot com domain name for $.99 that is perfect for your product.

You can put up a clean, professional looking web site with Word Press for nothing. You will then have a platform to create a sales page for your product, have all the images you want, and even add content in the niche. It will also allow you to start getting subscribers onto a mailing list. You will be able to add other products over time.

Going "all in" to sell your product can be very inexpensive. You're either serious and professional about being in business or you're not!

    Good luck to you,

    Steve

In addition to a professional and clean website. You need to have a way to assure potential buyers that their payment details will be secure. You could sign for a Paypal account (make sure what you are selling is not adult/sex oriented). Paypal has buttons and badges that say secure shopping on them that can be put on your salespage. If you don't use Paypal, you can get a merchant account and a ssl certificate to secure your payment gateway. A trust seal on your sales/order page (Norton, Symantec, etc.) adds an additional bit of assurance to your customers

Why sell on Ebid when you can sell it on Ebay which ranks 25th in the world as far as traffic goes? And if you have the necessary skills to create your own DVD (if it's your own product), why not create a professional sales video that you can post on YouTube. From YouTube, you can refer people over to your Ebay listing or website in order to complete the sale. Or if Ebay still allows, you can use your sales video in your auction listing.

If they are angling for free hosting they are not going to invest in an SSL certificate.

It's simple, really. Who are you more likely to buy from, the company that has a modern, licensed store front or the guy in the 68 Buick selling out of the trunk in an alley?

I land on some pages that are laughable, yet these people actually believe someone might trust them with their money.

Let me ask the average American, will you buy from a site with price formats like "7$ only"? And my personal favorite - "We Have 7/24 support."

Sell it on eBay instead. On eBay, you can embed images of your website's sales pages into your eBay's sales page. Your visitors on eBay won't have to leave eBay at all.

The order page is set up to take PP payments.

I have a similar item on eBay already.

Any mention of Wordpress frightens me. But I'm having a look at it and hosting packages.

      Sam,

Don't be frightened by WordPress, it's one of the easiest and best platforms you will find. Yes, there is a learning curve . . . but really it's not bad at all. WP is pretty intuitive, it's not hard to learn at all, and there are many, many helps and tutorials around to get you over obstacles you might encounter.

WP has thousands of great "themes" (many are free) and plug-ins that make security and written presentation a snap.

You really should invest just a little bit of time and effort getting to know WP and you will be glad you invested in this platform. It's extremely flexible and the search engines treat it very well.

      Good luck to you,

      Steve

Cheers Steve, I appreciate the encouragement. I'm considering Weebly but won't give up on WP.

  • I think the best company I've found to do online business that offers amazing software is ClickFunnels (that's my affiliate link) by the famous Russell Brunson. I'm really not trying to be self-serving about this. You can simply go to clickfunnels.com if you'd rather not use my link.

But what's the ole' saying..."Smoke'em if you got'em" anyways...

It literally gives you everything you need plus training to kick butt online.

I've been using them and it's amazing.

I've also found the stuff Anik Singal offers is pretty good too. He's at Lurn.com

Personally I would use fiverr to create this. It's a superbly cheap service and providing you are very specific with the remit you want they actually do a very good job

That looked like the route to try and I got exactly what I wanted for $15.

The first seller I tried was useless so I got a $10 refund - and a $5 free gig - which I put toward the next.

I made a free site on Weebly, which I can upgrade and get a domain name for. I know that some may think it's overkill getting someone else to do your Weebly site but for me it was a bargain, as I got exactly what I wanted for a great price. I can either add any extra elements myself or pay for it to be done.

I would definitely recommend both Weebly and Fiverr - as you suggested, Lightlysalted, I was very specific, and it worked out extremely well.
