You may also try related forums and community sites (a lot of potential affiliates in these places). I also suggest video marketing and content marketing.

I don't know about an "army", minus using joint ventures, but here are 3 other things you can do:

1. Do a Google search for reviews of products in your niche. When you find the review sites, contact the owners (look for a contact form or email on the site) and let them know about your product.

2. Find popular sites in that niche that aren't necessarily promoting a product by doing niche search terms and letting the owners know that they can make extra money by promoting your product.

3. Go to YouTube and repeat steps 1 and 2 (just replace the word "sites" with videos).

Important note: This will only work if you have a good product, attractive commissions, and an affiliate sign-up page that really convinces someone that your product is worth promoting.

You could also contact successful product owners in that niche who have a brand new hungry list of proven buyers.

Be sure to give that person some incentive to promote for you like 100% on the front end and or coupons.

You really don't want an army of affiliates, too many risks, too many hassles and too many of them won't make a single sale.

Instead, you want to find a few really good affiliates that get results. It's simple, but it isn't easy. Affiliates that make sales are in demand and can pick and choose the offers they promote.

Offer 100% commissions - ideally $30 or more per sale

Have banners, email swipes, videos , every thing available to assist your affiliates in making sales - many affiliates can be quite lazy, so you need to make it as easy for them as possible.
