My brain is leaking out my ears. Can you help?

I've finished my sales page and saved the html. Now the instructions say "upload this to your web server."

Where? I am so completely brain-dead at this point I need some help. Where do I upload this damn thing to? If I open up my ftp, where should I put it?

just depends on who your host is...
and if it's a add on domain...
Otherwise you want to just put the index in the main folder...

it might be the public folder which looks like this...

    /public_html/

You put it in that folder if this is your first site...

If you type in your website name and it doesn't come up...then you didn't put it in the right place ;0)

I would just go to host gator live support chat. You can ask them everything and they can log into your account. It will probably save you a lot of time. I've used them to help me, many times.

Yeah, stop wasting your time and call the support line. This is how I was able to get technical support for my website and they are usually available 24/7.

Do you mean you're trying to add this page to a site that already has WordPress installed at the root (base) level of the site?

If I have an add-on domain, do I just put it in the root?

    Hey Tinkie baby... LOL

Do you know how to access your HostGator cpanel? It's just your root domain/cpanel. You'll have to put in your username and password. Then scroll down to where you see "File Manager" and click on that. If you have add-on domains, you'll get a window to choose which domain to work with. Choose the right one. Duh. When you do that, it should bring you to the public_html folder by default. Just look for the "Upload" button at the top and click it. Then browse to your sales page (.html) and click it.

    You be all done. Baby.

    Hey Tinker,

See - Open your FTP and put in your FTP as ftp.yoursite.com and then your cpanel username and password. Connect.

When connected, you'll see quite a few folders. One of them would be public_html. Double click on it and get inside. If you've never uploaded anything, there should be just a couple of files there.

Then, in the same FTP, browse to your local computer and find the HTML files you want to upload. Select them, right click and upload.

BTW, Which FTP client do you use?
